Well years ago we learned some rhymes...
Some taught us right from wrong.
We went to school and played around
We sang some silly songs
When we got older life got more strange
Things ain't just what they seem
Well, I wander back to my kindergarten days
And wish folks jus' weren't so mean.
CHORUS:
I don't want your gifts
and I don't like your smile
Cause I know deep inside
you're just a crocodile
I may be a monkey a swinging in a tree
but you're a crocodile and you can't catch me
Yeah, they say we learned it all in our kindergarten days
Well I've got to agree and sing ol' Mrs. Stewart's praise
She taught us our letters, our numbers and never waste
She taught us to share, to be nice and don't eat paste.
She taught us to listen to that little voice inside
And she taught us to be a friend and never ever lie.
CHORUS:
Well, I don't want your attention
cause I know you only lie
You musta spent time in detention
cause you're such a mean wise-guy.
I maybe a monkey a swinging in a tree
but you're a slimy crocodile and you can't catch me
Yeah Mrs Stewart if you can hear
I learned a thing or two.
And I'm heading into a new frontier
where I can see the view.
Yeah I went through life with blinders on
and I gave some jerks some slack
and now those reptiles are all gone
and I'm back on the right track....
CHORUS:
Yeah, I don't want your gifts
and I don't like your smile
Cause I know down deep inside
you're just a crocodile
I maybe a monkey a swinging in a tree
but you're a crocodile and you can't catch me.
Yeah you're a crocodile and you can't catch me.
