| Thankfully we personally have no Weiner's in need. Keep checking back from time to time, or, PLEASE VISIT A PHENOMINAL NO-KILL SHELTER LOCATED IN EAST TEXAS, NEAR TYLER, NEAR DALLAS, BUT NOT FAR FROM ANYWHERE - IT'S NAME IS: STRAYDOG.org These people have given their lives "literally" to the betterment and quality of life for hundreds of dogs (and cats) since 1992. Until recently, the Founders, Pat Arnold, Bill Arnold & family contributed their time, their lives, not for profit but for the pure enjoyment and necessary work that needed to be done to save and/or rescue those animals in dire need - all this for no pay or compensation from their organization. They earn no wages, but give 12-hour days, 7-days a week, no matter what, in order to rescue, give aid, medical attention, immunizations, food, shelter - the works. Doing all this for approximately 70 animals on a weekly basis from TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS provided by their supporters and people like you. Check out their Website HERE and you will see the marvels they do. Pat and Bill lived their dreams and had been married since they were high-school sweethearts at the ripe old age of 16. They had been married for a blessed 47-years, and brought forth 4 wonderful children. "Had" meaning, that Pat Arnold recently passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003, first collapsing in the kennel yard while tending her flock, due to two brain aneurysms occurring back to back within hours of one another - something she never recovered from and died within hours at a hospital in Tyler, TX after being care-flighted there. Literally, her words after her collapse were: "Please take care of the animals while I'm gone..." Little did she or anyone know she would never return. I bring this up on our website because Pat & Bill were not just "people" doing this - they were our friends and fellow co-workers from time past - whereas the company where we worked was more or less a tight knit family of quality employees - associates - friends - and yes, it even felt like family. Pat was loved by many, admired for her work, and adored by those animals (and humans) that briefly shared their lives with Pat. I am proud to have known her and to have called her "friend". Goodbye Pat... I Will Miss You - ...and Bill, may the Spirit of our Creator be upon you and give you peace during this sorrowful time... Your Long-Time Friend, Mike Goody (mg43) Please help support this NO KILL SHELTER today. |
