Advice: An opinion about what could or should be done. Handy if it is true, but should not be taken when it is false.

The Dark Side: A dark part of the Force. Although the Force is good, there is still evil in it and that evil is the dark side. A Jedi must know the good side from the bad, and choose the good.

Dulon: Sword practice techniques without a partner (like a Karate kata).

The Force: "The Force is what gives the Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together."~Obi-Wan Kenobi

The Good Side: This is using the Force to do good. It is the side of the Force all Jedi are on. It is also known as the Light side by some people. The good side brings balance and peace to the universe.

Lightsaber: A weapon much like a sword except instead of a metal blade it is a blade made of energy. This laser sword can cut through walls and deflect the blade of another lightsaber. Lightsabers are in Star Wars but do not exist yet.

Jedi: A Hebrew word meaning "Beloved by God." This would make sense since the Jedi are doing God's work by respecting life and bringing peace to the world. George Lucas got the word from "jidai geki" a type of Japanese film style.

Jedi Arts: This is the skills of the Jedi. The Jedi Arts include swordsmanship, abilities with the Force, martial arts, and many forms of diplomacy.

Jedi Council: The Jedi Council is made up of a group of Jedi. They are selected to help out the Jedi Order and guide the members to make the best decisions. They are also to help out the world the best they can with their insight. Anyone can come to the Council with questions or if they need help.

Jedi Order: All the members of the Jedi and how they are organized.

Jedi Temple: A building, house, or set of rooms where Jedi train together in the ways of the Force. A big temple would have a library and even a place to sleep.

Padawan: This is another name for a Jedi Apprentice.

The Sith: People who use the Force to do evil and gain power for themselves.

Star Wars: The Story of Star Wars was written by George Lucas in 1977 AD., that eventually became a movie. After that it became a Trilogy. Then 3 more prequels were added to make Star Wars a 6 movie saga. Many other books and stories were written about the same universe that Star Wars exists in, and that material is called the expanded universe.

Teaching: To impart knowledge or skill.

Trials: The Trials of the Jedi are not made to be like a test you would find at school. The Jedi Trials are a challenge to your knowledge and skill to see how much you know.

Velocities: Sword practice techniques with a partner.

Younglings: Jedi hopefuls. A person who aspires to become a Jedi, but has not reached a student status yet. In the movies they are from 4 to 8 years old, hence the name. On this site they could be any age.
