The Lok Nayak Hospital (LNH)

Established in 1958, the Lok Nayak Hospital (formerly Irwin 
Hospital) is the main associated hospital for providing practical 
training and is one of the biggest hospitals in India, with 1530 
beds. 24 hours casualty and emergency cover is provided by LNH.
In addition to general OPD services, 45 special clinics are also run 
to cater to OPD treatment of renal disorders, chest pathology, etc. 
LNH also imparts training in radiological assistant course and has a 
nursing college for B.Sc. (Nursing and Midwifery) course. The blood 
bank has been recently upgraded to the regional blood transfusion 
center.
Under the center. for occupational and environmental health, a 
clinic of Occupational and Environmental Medicine is also 
functioning in the hospital.
791,170 patients attended the OPD at LNH in 1994-95, and 55,860 were 
treated as inpatients.
