Choose A Mentor!

Fade has taught many disciples the Dao of Entropia. While I had a hard time turning a deaf ear to the pleas of penniless noobs wandering around Atlantis, I found it tiresome, giving the same nooby class over and over, as they were limited to 5 students each time, and took 30 to 60 minutes each time. So I created this site with my disciples in mind. But all Disciples of other schools are welcome here as well.

Mentors are a very valuable resource for new players. They will show you the ropes, teach you what NOT to do, and genreally save you a lot of time and money in the game. Still, there are some things to know about prospective mentors.

1. If thier students graduate after many months of training, the Mentor recieves a "gift" from on high (MA). This is supposed to be incentive for Mentors to do a quality job in training new recruits. However, there are a few unethical players that run around Atlantis inviting any potential disciple, and then never teaching them a thing. If your Mentor does not teach you the basics, or send you to a wonderful site like this, you should get a new one.

2. You have 3 days to kick a Mentor that you don't like. Most Mentors are great. But if you have the shifty kind, kick him quick. To Kick him, go to your Skills page (by hitting K), and there you will find a button relating to Disciples and Mentors where you can give him the boot. After 3 days, you can not kick your Mentor, though he can always kick you.

3. Don't get too many skills at first, or you won't be able to get a Mentor. It is ok, to sweat a littlle, but if you want a Mentor, get one early.

4. A good Mentor is not someone that just gives you things. Gifts might seem nice, but their value really does not go far. Good Mentors show you the way, not pay your way. If you hear of a Disciple recieving a gift from a Mentor, this is nice, but it does not mean that you have a bad Mentor if he does not give you a rifle.

5. A mentor should not do the things you can do for yourself... like READ THE MANUAL (found on the start page of the game).

Hopefully, you find a good mentor who will get you started in the game right, and become a good in-game friend. If you have been helped by this site, and think you have what it takes, look for Me (FADE). I am always willing to take on new Disciples if they are people of integrity.
