Fade and the Old Alphas hanging out
When You Are Ready For Your First Weapon And Armor.

Now don't rush out and get this stuff, until you have established how much you will deposit into the game, or how you will make money in the game. When you are ready to start hunting (to get skills.. not to get money) you can start to consider armor and weapons.

Due to some recent changes in the game, you don't need to confine yourself to noob weapons. You will actually gain more skills for using higher end weapons. However, the higher end weapons are more expensive to use... especially until you have raised your skills.

Weapons

You should get a Jester D1 rifle, or a Mann MPH pistol. They are excellent nooby weapons that will help you to skill. I prefer rifles myself, due to the benefits of long range you may do against larger mobs later in the game. Other like the Mann MPH as it helps your skills (such as Aim) to go up faster. Either is a good choice. Another very popular choice is the Rep Battle Edge 1x0 axe. The Axe will actually help you to increase your Hit Points, while the Jester and Mann will help increase your evade skill more quickly.

You should only hunt smaller mobs until you get the hang of things, such as Snables (there are many east of Argus), Exosaurs and Daikabas (both of which are plentiful near Troy). These mobs will also give you a chance to get some Pixie armor drops. However, if you hunt larger mobs, you will get larger skill gains. Remember - you will only lose money by hunting, until you get your skills way up... which means many months or years of training.

Armor

There are really only 3 armors to consider at the start.

Pixie:
Pixie has a very good rating for Impact, which is what most Mobs will do to you. It is also very durable and cheap.

Guardian:
This armor does not as good for Impact damage, but it covers a much wider range of damage type than Pixie. If you like to hunt a variety of Mobs, you should consider this. Guardian is also relatively cheap, and it is a little less durable than Pixie.

Goblin:
This is the only affordable armor that offers protection from acid attack. So it is the best armor for you if you hunt a lot of Snables.

Rascal: This is a popular choice for those that want to get a bit more aggressive in their hunting. It is more expensive, but offers a good steup up in protection. If you want to hunt hard and fast, and spend less time using the First Aid Pack (FAP), then Rascal is for you.
