| Thailand. Amazing Thailand .... We dove in the Andaman Sea during four remarkable days, and saw tropical fish in a myriad of colors - woven tapestries of shimmering golds, pinks, magentas & aquamarines. Spotted leapord sharks, rays, eels & barracuda stalked around us in crystal clear waters offering up 100 foot visibility. Taking rest between dives, we snorkeled or lazed our days aboard the M/V Andaman or lounged on the Similan Island's powdery white sand beaches (sand so fine it squeaks when you walk on it, and so white it makes glare in the gaze of the sun) .... Taking the overnight trains, we made our way North to Chaing Mai ; cosmopolitan city and whirlwind of trade. The night bazaar beckoned Meghan on her birthday, rewarding her bartering skills with Thai Silk and exotic goods for future days of settled life.... Further North we traveled to Pai, and on the bus met a lovely couple from the U.K., Jonathan & Corrina , who were to become our travel mates and friends. Elephant trekking? No problem. Jungle and Hill Tribe Trekking? Same. Same. More travelling, South and East from Chaing Mai, and we stayed on another island, Koh Chang. How many days of rolling surf, delicious Thai cuisine, and sunsets are too many? With time for sweet reflection, we extended our stay in Southeast Asia and decided what to do with a few more days after the beach. After considering the advice of fellow travellers, we decided to try to make it into Cambodia. Arriving back in Bangkok, we made the usual rounds of getting ready for what's next - and checked out the Royal Palace for our last bit of sight-seeing. As I send this, we will be flying to Nepal and then making our way to India over land after some Himalaya trekking. These next two months might be harder to check our Email , but finding your messages will be that much sweeter.
