The rest of September we spent mostly with friends, sprinkling in a few hikes and attractions. Brian & Walker Norris, who in many ways inspired us to get our plans together to make this trip a reality, had invited us to come by anytime. We took them up on that and stayed the first few days of September with them and their great sons, Rylan & Braydon, at their homestead in Holden, Maine.

Then we spent just over a week backpacking in New Hampshire and Vermont, in the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. On September 10, David got to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

From the Odians, we drove to West Chester, PA and stayed a weekend with friends, Jonathon Goldman & Cristen Odian. We enjoyed some apple picking and went to a food festival, as we were eager to get out and be among other people. Our many thanks again to Cristen & John: for their comfort and friendship, for the apple pie that Meghan and Cristen baked, and for John's Playstation 2. From West Chester, a night near Camp David in Maryland, and then onto Virginia we drove, stopping at family friend's Bob & Peg Harmon's B& B for another great night amongst friends.

The rest of September flew by. We landed in Charlottesville, VA and checked out UVA and Jefferson's Monticello. We hiked in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We stayed with Dr. Amy & Jeff Short in Porstmouth, VA. We stayed with Larry Osborn, at his mountain hideaway in the Appalachians of North Carolina. We made it as far South as Charlestown, SC, and finally drove back up to see Chris Frick, Dave's brother in Columbia, SC.

As for what's next, some of our dream destinations may not be possible on this sojourn. Taking nothing in life for granted, but appreciating every opportunity, we have decided to keep on travelling & flying, meeting new people & hopefully representing our country abroad as good ambassadors, and keeping an open mind to the next adventure. We hope you continue to look in on us, and please continue to Email us along the way!
