This is my story....

My name is Mansueto de Lara. You may just call me Manny. I am the second son of the late Carlos de Lara, and Adelina Abellada. My siblings are Frederick, our eldest brother, Muriel, my little sister, Felman, my youngest brother, and Grace, my youngest sister. I was born in Naga City, Camarines Sur on November 6, 1958, and I am 48 years old when I started building this website. My mother told me that the name given to me was the name of my uncle who died before I was born. I took up grade 1 in 1966 at the Tabuco Elementary School in Naga City. In 1967, we moved to the province of Rizal where I took grade 2 up to grade 4 at the Tipas Elementarey School, then again, moved to Makati City and finally finished elementary at the Pio del Pilar Elementary School in 1972. I went to Arellano University in Pasay City and attended my first year to third year high school there. I finished my high school studies in 1976 at the New Era Educational Institute in Manila. I went to college at the University of the East, also in Manila. We stayed in Makati City until 1978, while I was still in second year college. We again moved to Muntinlupa City where my father managed to buy a house, and I continued studying in University of the East until I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Accounting in 1981.
After graduating from college, I was immediately hired by Nippondenso Phils., Inc. as an accounting staff. I worked there for almost four years before I got into Sales. Upon learning that there's a lot of money in sales, I finally decided not to get employed again. I became an independent distributor of Philkraft Marketing Corporation where I deal kitchen products on a direct selling basis. They are kitchen utensils for the rich people, thus one very good closed deal could make you earn a one-year salary being employed. Things went good for me until I met this girl from San Pedro, the first town in Laguna next to Munitnlupa City where I resided with my parents. I planned to marry this girl, but things went against my favor. She had to leave me to work in Canada as a domestic helper so she can send her ailing father to a hospital. Before she left she promised to marry me after one year, when she return home. However, only six months have passed; I received a letter from her telling me that she already married a Canadian guy. That almost ruined my entire life. I can't get myself organize anymore. I lost all the enthusiasm that I have. I stopped working and finally found myself alone and very lonely. My mother told me to forget her and try to live somewhere, where I can start all over again with my life. Hearing that from my mother, I decided to go back to Makati City. Due to the persistent pain in my heart, nothing beautiful happened to me until, I met again, Maria Theresa , my childhood sweetheart who disappeared in 1975.
The Place Where I Grew Up
I spent most of my younger years in the city of Makati. There I learned the pros and cons of life, the ups and downs, and every detail of how growing up in a very busy city affects the behavior and character of some kids. While studying, I used to go for adventures with some of my friends. There are times I go with decent companies, from whom I learned the good values in life. Most of the time I got along with the needy kids who taught me how to earn for myself while studying. We peddled newspaper, cigarettes and ice cream on the street and inside some of the buses plying the streets of Makati and Manila. In Makati City, I learned what life is all about. It is also the place where I started courting girls. I had a lot of friends during my teenage years, and most of them were girls. They love me so much as a friend. It was a lot of fun, hardships and excitements in growing up. We have transferred from one house to another in Makati City until I reached third-year college. My father bought our own house in Muntinlupa City in 1978 and we resided there permanently. I continue studying in Manila where I traveled everyday for one hour and a half from Munitnlupa City to Manila. Going to school every day was very tiring but that didn't make me stop pursuing my dream of finishing college.
My Lovelife
During my high school days, like many other boys then, I was lucky to have had several girlfriends as I grew up. The first was Corazon, a beautiful, so thoughtful and a very loving woman who taught me what love is all about. Another girl who has been a special part of my life was Benilda. We love each other so much then; however, we had to break up due to an uncontrollable reason. Let's just say that we are not meant for each other. Then came Maria Theresa. She had been my girlfriend for a very short time because she disappeared at the age of 16, in 1975. I was 17 then, but do you know what, she happened to be my wife when I reached the age of 29, she was already 27 then. She suddenly appeared several months after a painful break-up between me and a woman named Paz, whom I have mentioned to have married a Canadian guy. Going back to my high school and college years, I had relationships with a number of girls, including someone whom I am not going to mention here. She played an important part of my life and there are a lot of things about her that I really love to write, but she refrained me from including her in this story for security reasons. Up to now, we are communicating with each other through the Internet. I may say that she was the reason that led me to this website building endeavor.

Meet Maria Theresa
Maria Theresa Roxas was my childhood sweetheart in 1975 who disappeared at the age of 16. We met again in 1986, during the time that I was very down and low due to the break-up with my girlfriend, Paz, whom I thought would already be my wife. Theresa and I became friends again, and started meeting each other since then. After sometime, we fell in love and decided to live together. We were blessed with two beautiful kids. They are Charlie and Carlo. However, in early 1996, due to a very bad situation which was beyond my control, we decided to separate after nine years living together. She took Charlie and Carlo with her.
Under Philippine law, in case parents separates from each other, minor children shall be left in the custody of the mother. Since Charlie was only 8 and Carlo was 6 by then, I don't have any other choice but to leave them with their mother. It was very painful leaving away from my two kids. I had so many sleepless nights, and again, I cannot concentrate on my job anymore. Until an offer for me to work in Cagayan de Oro City came in. I accepted the job and promised myself to start my life all over again.
And finally the woman who brought me back to life.
The first time I arrived in the place dubbed as the City of Golden Friendship, which is Cagayan de Oro City, I was suddenly filled with excitement inside and I started to forget all the miseries that I had. I was assigned to work here as branch manager of Philippine Phoenix Surety and Insurance Company. Cagayan de Oro City is a place in the southern part of the Philippines, north of Mindanao Island. Although things were going fine with me here, I always remember my two kids. Lonely days and nights come and go. Every time I went back to Manila for a business trip, I always tried to look for my kids, but opportunity had always failed me. They were said to be living in Dasmariņas Cavite, and time just won't permit me to go and look for them where there are.
Until one day I met a young girl working in a meat store here in Cagayan de Oro City. Her name is Mercy. I fell in love with her and I courted her until we decided to live together, of course with the permission of her parents. We were blessed with a beautiful girl, whom we named Irisjen. She is a very active and funny young girl who at the age of 2 & 1/2 learned to read the alphabet and can already count from 1 to 100. At three, she can solve 3 jigsaw puzzles at the same time. She sings and dances while listening to danceable
music. She loves watching her favorite morning children TV show at ABC 5. Among her favorites were Dora, The Explorer, Blues Clues, and Spongebob Squarepants.
Mercy is a very loving woman, always thoughtful and we seldom disagree on anything. She knows everything about my past, and she understands what I feel. She also wants to meet Charlie and Carlo and to have them live with us. We had lived together since June 12, 1997. I have already transfered from one company to another. From Phil. Phoenix to Phil. British Assurance Company, and Intra Strata Assurance Corporation in the same capacity as branch manager. In November 2, 2007, we were again blessed with a new baby girl whom we named Kate Danielle. In August 2008, I finally decided to retire as an insurance man. I concentrated on my new career as a Real Estate Broker and still in the company of Mercy and my two kids, Irisjen and Kate Danielle.
