As we get to the end of the alphabet with a month left of Hurricane season, it's important to look back at what's occurred this year... A disaster for all those concerned apart from maybe the president, as it does take a little heat off the war in Iraq.

The performance by FEMA has been much maligned but again everyone’s spending more time pointing fingers than actually approaching the problem.

We at Fux believe we have a solution; put the Flintstones in charge, they don't need oil preferring to use dinosaurs and foot power, they're a likable bunch, Barney can take all the flack while Fred is in the field delivering Brontosaurus Burgers to the unfortunates, prehistoric giants of the ocean can block the levees and Pterodactyls can pluck the poor from the roofs. The use of these cheerful make believe characters would surely be a morale booster for all Gulf Coast residents. To be fair it wouldn't be the first time we've tried to believe in things that simply weren't there... now would it?
