From Farmboy to Jedi Master, Luke's journey is quite incredible, but being one of the two most important Jedi in Star Wars history means he has to do something special. Hidden from his father at birth, Luke is left in the care of the Lars family moisture farmers on Tatooine, and remains there until he meets C-3PO and R2-D2 and as a result, Obi-Wan Kenobi. This is the beginning of his journey to confront Vader, and bring the light jedi back to the galaxy.

Luke's first jedi training is by Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi Knight who also instructed Anakin Skywalker. Kenobi is killed by Vader before the Battle of Yavin though, and Luke is forced to journey to Dagobah for further training with the ancient Jedi Master Yoda. Here he learns more of the force, but rushes off to fight Vader and save his friends. He survives the encounter though, and returns to a dying Yoda. From here, he has only one more tast to complete to become a full Jedi Knight. He must confront Vader again. He does so, and witnesses Vader become Anakin Skywalker once more, and sacrifice himself to get rid of Emperor Palpatine.

After this, Luke begins to rebuild the Jedi numbers, setting up an academy to train new jedi. He finds force sensitive beings throughout the galaxy, and brings them to Yavin 4 for training. Years later, with a new Jedi Order, he falls in love with Mara Jade, another Jedi Knight, and one who used to serve the Emperor. The two are so attuned to eachother that they can virtually have conversations in their heads. They can share feelings and emotions in the most perfectly bounded relationship. They later have a son, Ben, but during difficult times, the middle of an invasion from the Yuuzhan Vong.
