Super Saiyan Gokou 3 Close Up

I wish more companies would produce figures simailr to the FAKs. I'm glad Bandai tried something new and created the FAKs. We currently may have good news as Irwin is reportedly planning on releasing FAK like model kits here in the US. (This info is current as of July 18th, 2000.

The Japanese FAKS are relatively easy to find now. Just check eBay and you should be able to complete your bidding on a complete FAK collection in one sitting. The European FAKs are however a different story. Good luck finding them. If you do have some you are a very lucky collector.

Gotenks also comes with a Super Saiyan head. Check the two close ups out. Very nicce detailing.

The Japanese FAKs were very easy for Bandai to manufacture. As you can see three of the Japanese FAKs; Gohan, Gokou and Super Saiyan Gokou 3 have the same outfit. Bandai just needed to utilize a different color for Gohan's outfit. Also 4 of the FAKs use the same body mold so Bandai was able to save on molding costs.

One of my favorite parts of the FAKs is the need of assembly. When you first open the package you will see all the body parts on what is referred to as a tree. Model builders will recognize the look. You then have to clip off the body parts from tree. Then you follow the clear instructions on how to assemble the figures. The writing is in Japanese, but this is not a worry as Japanese instructions in general always feature very well done diagrams and pictures. Ask any collector of Japanese transformers. It's easier to transform a Japanese transformer than a US one. Once you are finished assembling the body parts of the figure comes the hard part. Sliding the plastic outfits onto the figures can be a pain. Just use some soap to make it much easier or you will be in for a work out due to the tight fit.

Once you are done you have a full-fledged action figure which can be abused. The Japanese FAKs are very durable and tough. They are much stronger then your typical 1/144 Gundam. But don't go throwing the FAKs around your room.
