This is the home of the little known Dragon Ball Z figures. You can expect to find some weird stuff here. And we are starting off with a real weird figure of Trunks.

new New info added on 3/25/01
Today I got some info regarding this toy. I wasn't positive what company created this Trunks figure. Originally I thought it was a company called Yujin. But I was proved wrong. Thanks to the help of two DBZ fans, Bustashynes and Kame the true company that produced this Trunks figure is called Yutaka. Just like Yujin, Yutaka is also a small Japanese company who manufactures a lot of cheapo toys for the Japanese market. Also if I remember correctly Yutaka is a subsidiary of Bandai. I would like to thank Bustashynes and Kame for thier help in finding out exactly who produced this Trunks figure. For those interested if I remember correctly the trader who I got Trunks from also had a Piccolo figure. Bustashynes and Kame also informed me that they have seen an auction on eBay for a Gokou figure similar to this Trunks. So it looks like there are plenty of other Yutaka DBZ figures floating around out there. Good luck in finding them.

Not much can be said about this Trunks figure. Yutaka usually makes low quality toys which aren't very durable. He does however have a decent head sculpt. He is also has decent articulation. He has a lot more articulation than the 3 3/4" Star Wars figures. The most annoying feature of this figure is the lack of paint anywhere on the figure with the exception of his head. Personally I recommend you stay away from this figure, except if you are a die-hard DBZ fan who has to have everything. This is the worse quality and worse looking Japanese toy I have.

Now, you're probably asking how in the world I bought this figure if I don't like it. Well, I got it in an online trade. I didn't see the figure but the trader said it might be something that would interest me so I made the trade with him. That is how I acquired this Trunks. If I had seen the figure I would never have purchased him.

Super Saiyan 3 Gokou

Here is the Son Gokou Perfect Version Vol. 00 from Bandai's Supper Battle Collection. Personally I'm not a big fan of the Super Battle Collection. This is currently the only Super Battle Collection figure I own. There is one more item I am interested in getting so maybe Gokou will get some company.

Now onto the figure. The Super Battle Collection figures feature very little articulation. Generally the figures have arm articulation and thats it. The Perfect Gokou has arm articulation. But it only allows you to swivel his arms. The Perfect Gokou also can have his head swiveled from left to right. Other then this and you have a statue.

Usually toys with little articulation immediately turn me off. But there is always an exception to this rule and this toy is one of them. This figure of Gokou has removable arms. There are two types of arms, which are shown in the included pics. The head of this toy is also removable. There is a total of four heads, which can be attached to the figure. There is the regular Gokou, Super Saiyan Gokou, Super Saiyan 2 Gokou and the almighty Super Saiyan 3 Gokou. So thanks to the extra heads you are basically getting four figures.

The sculpting of the figure is very good. I think each individual head is well sculpted with good detail. I also love the gold metallic super saiyan hair. I definitely prefer the gold to the standard yellow found on other Super Battle Collection figures.

Gokou fans should pick up this toy, as it's a good representation of the Gokou. Plus you are getting all the Super Saiyan stages in one toy. But if you are looking for a poseable Gokou then stay far away.

Here I'll cover what most DBZ collectors consider to be the rarest Bandai made DBZ toy. This is the Super Saiyan 3 pack that was released in conjunction with the Japanese DBZ movie 7. The 3 pack includes Super Battle Collection figures of Super Saiyan Gokou, Super Saiyan Vegeta and Super Saiyan Trunks. This 3 pack is the hardest Super Battle Collection toy to find. If you can find it the prices can get outrageous. Personally, I don't understand why people are willing to pay the prices I see for this 3 pack. Its only Super Battle Collection figures.

The special part of this 3 pack is the molded super saiyan hair. It's hard to describe the color but it's very cool. The hair color is much better then the standard SBC Super Saiyan figures with the yellow or gold hair. You have to see this 3 pack in person to understand. The inclusion of Super Saiyan Trunks in this 3 pack also drives DBZ collectors nuts. The 3 pack is the only place to get a Super Saiyan SBC figure of Trunks in his Capsule Corporation jacket.

The figures within the 3 pack are pretty much available as single SBC figures with some slight differences. The main difference is the hair color. The single Super Saiyan figures of Gokou, Vegeta and Trunks come with yellow or gold hair.

The 3 pack Gokou is basically the same as the SBC Super Saiyan Gokou vol 2 from Bandai. The only difference is the different sash found with the 3 pack Gokou.

Next up is Vegeta. Vegeta's SBC counterpart is Super Saiyan Vegeta Vol 7. Actually the figures are identical with the exception of the hair color.

The 3 pack Trunks is why most DBZ fans want the 3 pack. You can't get this Super Saiyan Trunks anywhere else. The closest SBC Trunks is the Trunks vol 5. However the vol 5 Trunks is a regular Trunks. There is no SBC figure of Super Sayian Trunks in his Capsule Corp jacket. Given this fact and Trunks' immense popularity with DBZ fans, one can easily see why people what this 3 pack so badly and are willing to pay so much.

I've never been a fan of the Super Battle Collection figures for several reasons. The reasons are the limited articulation, poor sculpting and detailing. I've really never liked the face sculpts as they don't seem right to me. Although the quality of the face sculpts has improved as Bandai released later volumes. The overall detailing and sculpting has also improved in later volumes. But the lack of articulation has never been improved. It even seems like later volumes have less and less articulation. You basically get shoulder joints and a swivelable waist. That's it. My main peeve overall is the missing articulation. In my book articulation is the most important part of an action figure.

Most DBZ fans love the Super Battle Collection toyline. I can't blame them either since the SBC toyline includes allot of characters from the DBZ universe. But personally for me there are too many things wrong with the SBC line.

Basically, I don't really recommend this 3 pack to DBZ fans. The prices for this thing are super crazy. I can't see people paying that kind of money for simple SBC figures. If you can find a good price (under $40) then I would suggest you pick it up. Any higher and think about it before you spend. You can get single SBC figures, which are pretty much the same as the 3 pack figures.

IMPORTANT INFO: I've lately had alot of requests about me selling the 3 pack. I'm sorry, but the 3 pack is not for sale. It is from my private collection.
