The Full Action Pose DBZ figures are the most articulated DBZ figures available today. The Full Action Pose were manufactured by Bandai in the early 90s. The Full Action Pose figures measure about 8 inches in height. The figures feature cloth outfits, which are of a good quality and make a very nice addition.

The sculpting of the figures doesn't live up to Bandai's normally excellent work. Overall the sculpting isn't bad but it could be better. The amount of articulation more than makes up for the weaker then usual sculpts. These figures are more articulated then 12 inch GI Joes. How's that for articulation? Take a look at the cloth Gi the figure is wearing. Gokou also has rubber boots, which need to be slipped on. One thing I hate about figures with alot of articulation is how the screws holding them together are usually visible. These DBZ figures clearly have this problem.

new New info added on 1/4/01
I've been collecting DBZ toys for about 5 years now so I consider myself to have seen most if not all of the Japanese toys. But every once in awhile something pops up that completely catches my off guard and shows me that no matter how much DBZ stuff you know there is always something else lurking out there.

This time's catching me off guard was done courtesy of Bustashynes. He posted on the message board of www.dragonballtoys.com about a non Bandai SS Gokou FAK he had in his possession. I had never heard of this. I already know that tons of bootlegged DBZ toys have been made as I have made visits to Chinatown. But I have never heard of a non Bandai SS Gokou FAK. Bustashynes was kind enough to create a couple of scans of the figure and the package. He also gave permission for me to post these images on my website. Thanks Busta as I'm sure my visitors will appreciate your generosity.

Busta provided very large scans of his SS Gokou FAK. I compressed the scans in order to place them on my website. His scans were very detailed and I was able to visually compare his FAP to mine. First thing I noticed is that the Non Bandai version has yellow hair while mine has gold hair. But I've seen Bandai FAPs in the past, which had yellow hair similar to Busta's version, so this is passable. The two FAPs look very similar from a visual standpoint. The rubber boots of Busta's FAP look slightly off from my Bandai version but everything else looks to be a good match. The cloth Gi of Busta's FAP also appears to be made of a slightly coarser material then the Bandai version. Busta's package also seems to be very well made and an almost exact match with the exception of the missing Bandai logo. Most DBZ bootlegs I've seen or worthless pieces of plastic but this one seems to be very well done. I wish I could hold it in my hand and check it out up close.

Below you'll see the scans Busta provided. Take a look and compare them to the pictures of my FAP. What do you think? Close, huh? I've also provided a scan of the package of my FAP so you can compare it to the package of Busta's FAP. The only visible difference is the missing Bandai logo on Busta's FAP. I am asking a friend to translate the Japanese writing on the package of Busta's FAP.

Super Saiyan Trunks

All the figures feature cloth outfits. Trunks has the most items of clothing. This figure of Trunks inculdes his sword. The figure came with several stickers, which I never placed, on the figure.

Most people consider this Trunks figure to be the best of the FAPs as its face sculpt best captures the DBZ character its based on. Also the Trunks FAP includes the most items of clothing and accessories.

I believe Bandai did an excellent job with Trunk's head sculpt. Trunks may possibly be the most popular DBZ character.

Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma. This is a toy of "Future Trunks".

Super Saiyan Gohan

Here is Gohan. He is the oldest son of Gokou and Chi Chi.

The Full Action Figures are usually ridiculed because of their head sculpts. Overall the main complaint is that the heads are too small. Of the three Full Action figures I most like Gohan's head sculpt. I feel Bandai did an excellent job with him

Gohan features a removable cape. On the Gohan back pic you can see the slit that allows the cape to be removed over his head.
