Part of the 1995-96 addition, the large (20 x 18) Family Room provides a less formal atmosphere for family gatherings. The room features a tiled alcove with a Jovul wood stove, custom-built floor-to-ceiling bookcases and cabinet, enclosed alcoves for stereo speakers, a painted brick wall (the backside of the Den chimney), recycled oak flooring from a local Civil-War era barn, recessing lighting, and a raised panel staircase designed to match the staircase in the original portion of the home. Double french doors provide direct access to the back deck and the 8 windows provide an abundance of natural light. The room is wired for up to three ceiling fixtures. |
