What is a Christian

Religion vs. spirituality vs.
christianity (what's in a name)

I believe in God, isn't that
enough?

I'm a good person, won't I go
to heaven?

How do I become a christian

Now that I'm born again, what comes next?

Movie Quotes - Two Towers
From Gandalf:
(telling about his fight with the balrog)

"Through fire and water, from the lowest dungeon to the highest peak, I fought him, the balrog of Morgoth until at last I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside."

I could not find a bible verse that matches this quote, although i tried very hard. It does remind me of other verses where God is speaking to someone like David, or Moses, about battling with the enemy for the sake of his chosen people.

And:

"I come back to you now at the turn of the tide."

Again, there is no specific verse that comes to mind with this particular quote, but it again reminds me of God being there when things take a turn for the worst and we need him desperately. (Just as Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas desperately needed Gandalf's strength, wisdom and guidance to go further)

Theoden:
"Where are the horse and rider. Where is the horn that was blowing. They have passed like rain on the mountains, like wind in the meadows. The days have gone down in the west behind the hills - to shadow. How did it come to this?'
(this is from both the movie and book)

Theoden uttered this (in the movie) at Helm's Deep as he was suiting up in his armor preparing for war. Realistically (in the movie) he had a chance at Edoras (his own city) to plan his battle strategy but chose not to. Instead, he is trapped with the odds against him, and forced into hurried decisions.  Evil is like that. It can sneak up on us unaware. We are suddenly stuck with hard decisions and seemingly no time to work out a plan of action. "How did it come to this"  We need to keep our eyes open and our wits about us, and be ever vigilant.

And again from Gandalf:
'Look to my coming. At the first light, on the fifth day at dawn, look to the east."

This entire scene was so spiritual, so biblical, and a friend of mine found the verse i was looking for that fits so well.

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your Rear Guard. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer: "Here I am."
