January 14 2004  Final Opening of Lost and Found

The final opening for Lost and Found  was held at 6pm on the 14th January 2004 at the Logan Art Gallery in Logan City which is close to Brisbane.  There were many people at the opening which was attended by five of the Lost and Found artists.  Sharon Smith came out from Hong Kong and she was joined by all the Brisbane artists.  The show was well received, and the gallery director Annette Turner was very happy with the response.

November 1 2003 Brisbane artsists Vim de Vos, Adele Outeridge and Jonathan Tse at Caloundra - picture by Helen Sanderson Lost and Found is on display at Caloundra Art Gallery from today. The opening was attended by all the Brisbane artists involved with Lost and Found.
September 18 2002 Lost and Found will now tour Regional Queensland during 2002, 2003 and 2004. Check the Schedule for dates and places.
September 13 2002  Lost and Found was officially opened in Brisbane on Friday September 13 2002 by  Mostyn Bramley-Moore, Provost and Director of the Queensland College of Art. Artists from Hong Kong and Australia attended the official opening. Many people came to the opening, and showed great appreciation of the artists' works.
Artists Sharon Smith (Curator, Hong Kong), Helen Sanderson (Curator, Australia), Jonathan Tse (Australia), Rosanna Li Wei Han (Hong Kong),   Wim de Vos (Australia), Fung Ho Yin (Hong Kong), Adele Outteridge (Australia) at the Exhibition Opening.  Absent: Daisy Chun-hei Choi (Hong Kong).

September 7 2002  Lost and Found is now exhibiting in Brisbane! Read the article in the Brisbane News. You are invited to meet the artists from Hong Kong and Australia at the official opening on Friday September 13 2002 at 6pm.
August 11 2002  You are invited to the Brisbane exhibition of Lost and Found from August 28th - September 17th. Meet the Artists at the Opening on Friday September 13th - here is your Invitation to the Opening.

June 3 2002  Lost and Found tour dates  for Queensland, Australia have been finalised. The tour opens in Brisbane on August 28 2002.
June 3 2002  Lost and Found opened at The Economist Gallery of the Fringe Club, on June 3 2002.

 

The opening was well attended, and the artists' works received very positive responses.

The Exhibition Book contains the following curator's statement by Sharon Smith: 

Lost and Found became a global meeting place for us to share stories and images from our very different journeys.

I asked each of them to search their thoughts and in response many aspects of their colorful lives were revealed. Each personal reply spoke of missed chances and the taking or the giving away of the abstract and the visible. They spoke of discovered opportunities and the pleasure of memories and new encounters.

April 22 2002  The Hong Kong Exhibition of Lost and Found will be held at The Economist Gallery of the Fringe Club, opening on June 3 2002.  The Economist Gallery of the Fringe Club was previously known as the Fringe Galllery.
March 29 2002  Hong Kong Exhibition - here is your invitation   to attend Lost and Found.

Oct 31 2001 Hong Kong Venue Confirmed! 
Sharon Smith and the Fringe Club signed an agreeable contract confirming that the Exhibition Lost and Found would be held in Hong Kong at the Fringe.
Oct 15 2001  Hong Kong Funding Approved!
Today Sharon Smith was informed by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council that the Lost and Found proposal was successful and would be granted a HKADC Exhibition Grant and a HKADC Publication Grant. On November 6th 2001 Sharon Smith and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council will sign the grants contract.
Oct 14 2001  The 4th Artists’ Books + Multiples Fair closed today. Have a look at lots of photos of the book, and images from the Fair here!
Oct 11 2001 The 4th Artists’ Books + Multiples Fair OPENS at the School of Arts  in Brisbane.  The Lost and Found Artists Book will be displayed at the fair which runs from October 11 to 14 2001.
Sept 27 2001 The Lost and Found Artists Book is finished! See the completed book here.
Sept 25 2001 Artists Book is updated with images from Adele Outteridge and Wim de Vos. Adele's and Wim's studio photos are now on the Artists page. Animated image on the home page is also updated.
