The curator of the Lost and Found exhibition is Sharon Smith of Hong Kong, assisted by Helen Sanderson of Australia. Lost and Found is an extension of two earlier exhibitions curated by Sharon Smith: Inner and Outer Landscapes and Under the Bed. These were concerned, respectively, with the place of computers in the world of art and the staging of an international show based on the theme. Lost and Found unites both these aspects. Sharon has invited three Hong Kong artists to join her in this exhibition: Sharon has worked with Rosanna, Daisy and Ho-Yin before. Through the assistance of the Queensland Artworkers alliance, Sharon invited Helen Sanderson to co-ordinate and curate the Australian component of the exhibition. Helen has invited the following Australian artists to join her in this exhibition: Professor Edward Powell from the United States of America, involved with both the previous exhibitions, has been invited to initiate the theme Lost and Found and co-ordinate the thinking processes on this topic with the eight artists through email. The vision for an international exchange art exhibition between Hong Kong and Australia comes from Sharon Smith, a curator and artist currently living in Hong Kong. She was born and educated in England, and continued her art education in the United States. Sharon has previously directed two international exchange exhibitions. These exhibitions have followed a similar format to the lines we are proceeding with here. The aim is to produce an exciting exhibition exploring the thoughts of eight culturally diverse visual artists on a common theme.
