Kim
Kim, or "Little Kim", as we frequently called her, came into our family officially when she was nine, that was when her dad married my sister, Debbie, in 1983.  She was a little blonde pixie who'd actually been hanging around with us for over a year. After Debbie and Eddie were married they lived in an apartment before they moved to the big old house with the pond in front and a mountain behind.  Kim lived with Debbie and Eddie most of the time, but spent 2 weekends out of each month, and two weeks each summer with her mom, Daphne and her stepfather, Jackie. Kim was an excellent student in grade school winning perfect attendance awards all the time.  She was very active in the Girl Scouts in grade school and Debbie helped her with "patches" and came to all her scout activities as much as possible. When Kim was about 12 years old, her half-brother Adrian was born and she was excited about that. In high school she joined the band and played the saxophone, oboe and clarinet in the marching band. During the years she was in the band they went to Quebec, Canada for a band trip in 1989, traveling through all the states in between and stopping in Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.

During high school she decided she wanted to try living with her mother and stayed their the rest of time she was in school until she joined the Air Force.  During this time, when Kim was 15,
MacKenzie, her half-sister was born.  She married while in the air force to a young man she'd known since high school.  At one point they were nearly ready to be sent over to Desert Storm and their kids, a son, Kasey, and a daughter, Courtney,  would be going to Debbie and Eddie for the duration.  The war ended before this could happen, but by the time they came out of the air force the marriage was not doing well at all. They had married so young. They returned to North Carolina and familiar faces and places, but the marriage was irretrievable and they divorced.

Kim was in the process of buying her first home when she met David. They married on January 6, 2001 and honeymooned in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. They make their home now in Vale and have lots of family because she also acquired a new step-daughter, Karly Rose, three years of age. Casey is now 7 years old and Courtney is 5. David works for Corning Cable Systems and Kim is now attending CVCC to obtain her associate degree.
