Sue is the oldest friend I have in the world. Not that she's old! I mean, she's only 6 days younger than me, so she can't be old, right? Right??? We have been friends ever since we met in "beauty school" and we always laugh the hardest when we are together. She lives in Michigan and is a school bus driver. Sue met her husband, Mojtaba, through a guy I was dating at the time. We don't want to talk about how long ago that was... Sue and I were young together and went through a lot of things in a short time, it seemed like. (She knows where the bodies are buried.) After I moved down here, and while she was still a single mother with just her daughter, Andrea, Sue came to visit me about once a year before she remarried. She came down only two months after I moved here when i was feeling very homesick and it really helped me at the time. I wrote long letters to her the first couple years I was here. We don't get to see as much of each other as we would like anymore because she's up there and I'm down here, but we email each other a lot and once or twice a year we talk all night on the phone (Can't seem to get her on Yahoo! Instant Messenger VOICE yet). And now and then (maybe every 10 years) I actually get up to Michigan! lol
Melvina (pronounced Mel-veena, with the accent on the "vee") is probably my bestest real life friend in the world. She's from North Carolina and we live about 15 minutes away from each other and visit back and forth. Melvina has started her own pet website, Spud and Toby Too. She and I have known each other almost since I moved to NC and she is always there for me. She is also close friends with my sister, Jacki. And she and my mother dearly loved each other. I guess you'd have to say she's part of the family. My nieces and nephews "love her to death" as we say down here. Melvina's main interests are working in her yard, making jewelry, her grandchildren, old people, her family and most importantly, living for the Lord. She is a stay-at-home wife nowadays but since her husband, Bill, retired he has kept her busy (actually she keeps him so busy he feels like he never quit work, but don't tell her I said so!) Her three children are grown and on their own. Melvina's granddaughter, Leah, and my niece, Blythe, are both nearly 12 years old and born only a week or so apart. They like to hang around together when they can even though they live about 60 miles apart. Bill has been a surrogate grandfather lately for my sister Jacki's son, Hunter, too. My family truly thinks the world of these two people. Melvina makes jewelry, as I said, and she's taught me a lot. We took a class together but a lot has just been discovering things on our own. Where we may go with this yet, we're not sure, but we're having a great time being creative. A couple of her recipes are on My Friends' Recipes pages.

This is a feisty, fun and friendly lady! And smart? She can do just about anything if she sets her mind to it. She is a gifted photographer, fantastic graphic artist on PaintShop Pro and when it comes to playing Runescape; she leaves the rest of us in the dust. She's the exact opposite of me in many ways, loves the outdoors, hates to "glam" up or wear a lot of makeup and jewelry. We both love animals, though, and we met a few years ago when she was fostering puppies and I was helping out with the spay/neuter clinic through the local Humane Society. It turned out we both had our own websites, were single, somewhat reclusive and lived on the computer. We also both had a wicked sense of humor and appreciated it in each other. We became fast friends. Eventually, I inveigled her into comeing out once in a while for lunch or dinner at some halfway respectable restaurant (she actually does like to do that now and then!) and once or twice I acted as her chauffeur (she doesn't have a car) while she clung, white-faced, to the passenger seat and armrest of my 97 Honda. Honestly, I don't know why people do that. At any rate, no matter how long it has been since we've spoken whenever we see each other in person, or talk on the phone, it's like instantaneous connection again: we laugh ourselves silly. And now that she's a matched set with another friend of mine, it's like two for the price of one when I see her! Speaking of him...I'll have tell you about Larry. As for Trudy's website, it is just like entering another realm...the Thisildo Realm, in fact. Check it out. But hey! Don't forget to come back here!! Trudy has a couple recipes along with photos she sent me to go with them! Go to Friends' Favorite Recipes page 2
Larry started out as my good online friend a little over two years ago when we met in a chat room where we both hung out. He called me "girly" and "brat" and I called him..."Sir". We went there often and had a coterie of friends in common. At any rate, we stayed online friends for some time and then when Trudy began to hang out there, too, of course, I wanted to introduce them to each other. And thereby hangs a tail, to coin a phrase. Actually you can learn more about it and about Larry and Trudy by going to Trudy's website and looking for the "Realm Master" page. Larry and Trudy hit it off right away online and then they decided to take it to real life--and it worked! I really had no idea that they would be so right for each other, but now I have Larry as my real life friend, as well as Trudy. I love it! Sometimes I still call him Sir to give him a hard time--and he KNOWS I'm a brat so he never stopped calling me that. Larry's a very good cook, by the way, specializing in a barbeque sauce he brought all the way from Arizona to the Realm. BUT HE WON'T GIVE ME THE RECIPE! (I forgot to mention once in a while he's mean--hehe). Both he and Trudy surf the net together and play Runescape on side by side computers, raise bettas and have added a new member to their family of 2 dogs and 4--which makes it now 5 cats. I feel like a real life Yenta here.

Pame is an online friend I met through my Runescape clan. It turns out we have a lot of other things in common, including being almost the same age, and battling depression at times. We also both seem to think very much the same regarding humor, politics, and life! We haven't known each other too long, but we are enjoying getting acquainted through emails. Pame hails from Chicago, but lives in Tennessee now and is a former nurse, married, with 2 grown daughters. She also likes to write poetry (and has had 3 published so far!) when she's not too busy with her grandchildren or playing Runescape. She contributed to my Friends' Favorite Recipes pages at the bottom of Page 3.

If you consider yourself a good friend of mine and you don't see yourself on this page, you're probably thinking one of these: 1. Thank God she didn't put me on here or... 2. Why am I NOT on here?! It's probably because I don't have any pictures of you!!! Also, I don't put people on this page without their permission. If you'd like to be added; just email me or ping me on Yahoo Instant Messenger and we'll get you on here pronto, darlin'. I need 3 photos (preferably scanned at 300 dpi, but you can't have everything, I guess). I prefer to edit them at my end. And if you want to send a little personal info, that's strictly up to you, you publicity seeker, you. --Lori
