Jesus Christ is "Lord of all", or He is "not Lord at all!"
According to Easton's Bible dictionary the meaning of Christ
is:- 'anointed, the Greek translation of the Hebrew word rendered
"Messiah" (q.v.), the official title of our Lord, occurring five
hundred and fourteen times in the New Testament. It denotes that he
was anointed or consecrated to his great redemptive work as Prophet,
Priest, and King of his people. He is Jesus the Christ (Acts 17:3;
18:5; Matt. 22:42), the Anointed One. He is thus spoken of by Isaiah
(61:1), and by Daniel (9:24-26), who styles him "Messiah the
Prince." '
According to Genesis, "In the beginning God created" it did not
say "The Gods created", nor " The God Counsel", just "God". God did
create heaven and the angels before the earth and mankind/ Adam.
Therefore, Let us make man... (Gen 1:26) does not means there were
more than one God, but more than being present.
Moses spoke to God "face to face" (Exod. 33:11), and God pass by
Moses in Exod. 34:6, He only saw one God. In Deut. 4:6 he wrote
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:"
Moses also in Deut. 18:15 "The LORD thy God will raise up unto
thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto
me; unto him ye shall hearken;" In this, he was speaking of the the
Christ that which was to come, that we should follow Him, because we
will be judge according what He says.
In the Zechariah 14:9 it is recorded "And the LORD shall be king
over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his
name one." Points to note, it states one LORD, and His name one
(Jesus). In the Old Testament new God by only titles, nicknames, and
His characteristics names.
Jesus confess in John 5:43 "I am come in my Father's name".
In the scriptures, James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is
one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." The
devil can not believe in a lie, for he is he father of all lies. The
devil also was in the presence of God serving daily, so I would say
he knows.
Apostle John wrote "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning
with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any
thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the
light of men." (John 1:1-4) where he continued in verse 14 "And the
Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,". So, according to this
recording, From the beginning (even before time) was the WORD, this
very WORD was God, which became flesh (as Christ).
In the book to Timothy, Apostle Paul wrote "And without
controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was
manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of
angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world,
received up into glory." Here you see Paul was confessing that
Christ was God. (1 Tim. 3:16)
Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:19 "To wit, that God was in
Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their
trespasses unto them;" If God Himself was in Jesus Christ, then who
is He?
The bible state that "God is a spirit" (John 4:24), then if He
was to come to show us the way to live and to die for our sins, then
how could it be done? Can you see a spirit? And if you could, would
you want run and be afraid of it? Another question, can a spirit
die?
Jesus states in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Confessing that He is the
way, means there is no other way, the only way is Jesus. In John
10:9 Jesus says "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall
be saved". He is the door, confirms that there is no other way to
enter heaven, the most holies of holies (the presents of God), or
even to pray.
In Acts 4:12 Apostle Peter witness that "Neither is there
salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved." There is no other way to
be saved, or in no other name. Remember He is way, ... and the door.
Apostle John state in 1 John 2:23 "Whosoever denieth the Son, the
same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath
the Father also." Also stated in 1 John 5:12 is that "He that hath
the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not
life." So, therefore you will have to accept the Son to have the
Father, and when you have the Son, you will have the Father, and
then you will have life.
Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and
one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" He also
wrote to the Hebrews in Hebrews 12:24 "Jesus the mediator of the new
covenant". Apostle Paul confesses that Jesus is the mediator,
negotiator for
mankind in the new testament or covenant.
Since the book of Revelation is "The Revelation of Jesus
Christ, which God gave unto him" (Apostle John) Revelation 1:1, let
us see who He said He really is:
Revelation 1:7-8 states "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every
eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds
of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha
and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is,
and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Jesus told John
in Revelation 1:17-18 "Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am
he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore,
Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." Jesus also confess in
Revelation 22:16 that "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto
you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of
David, and the bright and morning star."
