FOLK FESTIVAL - LOKMAHOTSAV

02.30PM- Cultural Procession- from Gangadhar Mandap

Ma Metakani Ghanta Badya Malpada, Bolangir 05.47PM-Ghanta Badya/ Mancha Poojan   

This is a devotional orchestration  with bells of different size & cymbals with rhythm. It creates a heart throbbing sensation when gets accompanied with blows of conch shells.

01.30PM- Photo & Fine Arts Exhibition , VSS Town Hall, Sambalpur by Mr. Jaya Narayan Mishra, M.L.A, Sambalpur.

05.30PM-   Mr. Nabin Pattanaik, Honourable, C.M. of Orissa Releases the Souvenir

 06.10PM- Sambalpuri Folk Dance by Sambalpur Kalakendra, Sambalpur. Laharilata.A mixed choreography of folk styles like Dalkhai, Rasarkeli, Sajani, Sanchar & Nachnia.

07.35PM- National Folk Party CHHAU Purulia:West Bengal

Chhau is famous for its mask, music & heroic dance form. Guru Manik Chandra Mukherjee presents this dance with the theme "Mahisasura Mardini"- Prevalent of good over evil.

08.30PM- MADIA NACHA Nawarangapur, It is a typical dance form of the Madia tribe residing in the undivided Koraput district of Orissa. With hunting implements in their hands, they sing the song of their life & dance with ecstasy.

08.15PM- Dulduli- Remunda, Bargarh

This is a traditional play of folk Panchabadya like dhol, nisan, tasa, mahuri & jhanj. This is played during festivals & marriages. The 16 styles & rhythms are created by this children’s troupe.

09.00PM- National Folk Party.GARBA/DANDIA   Baroda, Gujurat

This programme is presented in the time of Nabaratra. They perform it in the Lok Mahotsav as an exhibition item.

07.55PM- Jhumer- Ghens, Bargarh

It is a part of the Karma dance of tribal people. This dance is slow, but enchanting. Ladies dance and male folk accompany them with madal, jhanj & flute.
