Lokmahotsav-2004 was Inaugurated by Hon. Chief Minister Orissa Mr. Nabin Pattanaik
This festival is by the people, for the people, of the people & a reflection of the socio- anthropological evolution
of the people of an area. Here “Lok” means “People” only.This festival is not only a source of entertainment & festivity, it is capable of exhibiting the amazing conglomeration of traditions,
beliefs, sorrows & philosophies of the people which vitalize the rituals & festivals. |

Photography, art & handicraft exhibition is opened during the festival in Veer Surendra Sai Town Hall, Sambalpur By Mr Jaya Narayan

Around 900 folk artists of the state & the outside perform during the 3 days celebration. |
|
|
One can feel by seeing the unimpaired preservation of these to the present day. These aspects of the people give meaning
& depth to their lives & solidarity to their social structure. |

A cultural procession is arranged with folk dance & music in the streets of Sambalpur, taking the participants of
the LokMahotsav-2004 |
