  Matt's Homecoming

Matt served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guam, Micronesia.  He was on the island of Kosrae (Kose'-rye) for the majority.

Matthew is the last missionary son. He returned to BYU in the fall as a bio-physics major. He is half like his brother Danny (crazy, funny, cheerful,) and half like David (reflective, kind-hearted, easy-going.)

Here is the whole Robertson family: 3 boys, and 3 girls. They are all happy, smart, good people and boy do I love them! They use any excuse to get together; Dave would've stayed for 2 weeks if he had the vacation time!

But don't let the nice, calm family picture fool you...

The Robertsons are also crazy, silly, and full of tradition, as shown here recreating Matthew's frequent childhood request that his older brothers tie him to the picnic table, which he would get out of.

This is also a replayed joke from Mom's 50th birthday last year, which Matthew missed, being on his mission. The siblings made a life-size cardboard cutout of him, to include him in photos. But they couldn't help tying the cut-out to the bench.

Then the whole family conspired against Danny, who loved tying Matthew to the bench, and drenching his sister Jill in water. The guys pretended to go after Matthew again, then on cue wrestled Danny to the table, dousing him in ice water. Funniest revenge ever!

Dave's brother Danny takes a reminiscent "time-out" on the you're-in-trouble park bench. Knowing Danny, I'm sure is very familiar with this spot!

The kids, uncles, and dads in the pool.

The guys had a frisbee golf tournament on the traditional Robertson home course, consisting of trees, poles, and parts of the house as targets. The front door is the final "hole". The winner would have the lowest throws over all 10 games.

Sam and Danny tied for first, with Dave 1 throw behind. Sam won in a throw off.

Above, we're all taking the Hartman Color Code Personality test. Dave's family is mostly blue (loyal/ guilt-prone), white (easy going/silently stubborn), and yellow (fun-loving/irresponsible). The in-laws brought any red (leaders/pushiness). It was funny and enlightening.

Left, I hold the premature Sidney "Squid" Robertson, Danny & Karen's newest.

  We celebrated Dave's Mom birthday.

The famous Texas Bluebell ice cream. Hope we have enough there...

  Jane Jarvis (Melanie & Sam's 3rd) turned 2.
