Hi Gari,

I'm not sure we were talking about anything, but..

>>So, what do you think Gen 8:22 means when it says "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and
harvest...." Tell me what figurative language was meant here!>>>

For one thing, I don't think it was "figurature" at all but literal. What it meant was that once the water canopy was gone, there would be a change in the weather. Before, everything was like a hot house effect, insulated by the canopy and the whole world was tropical. But after the flood it was arranged that there would be distinct seasons and that would affect times of harvest and planting, etc.

>>If you believe that the kingdom has not come yet, tell me what you believe Matt 16:28 means when it says, "There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom" If the kingdom hasn't come yet, there should be some pretty old guys
standing around don't you think? Gari

I love your question, but you're not going to
like my answer perhaps. I think this means
exactly what it says. There is more than one
scripture that suggest at least Paul and John
would "survive until the Lord's day", literally,
down through the ages. Of course, John was one
of the persons present when Jesus said this.

So he meant it LITERALLY. That is, that some
chosen ones of his disciples would not die but
would survive throughout the ages until the
Messiah reappeared in the flesh. Check out
the last few verses of John and you'll see
they are kidding around about it but it's a
REAL possibility.

With that in mind, I think that probably they
kept some original items from the first century,
maybe even some birth records.

As far as the kingdom coming, there are lots of
dates: 1914, etc. But I favor 1992, of course,
since I think the 1290 days of Dan. 12 definitely
ends in 1947 and thus the 1335-days kingdom date
falls in 1992. That's consistent with the
fall of Jerusalem in 529BCE which is now a
confirmed date via astronomical text (VAT4956).

Hope that answers your questions....

Ummm...you were asking questions this time,
weren't you? :>

Cheers,
Drake, Jr.
