Yes, I thought about that when I wrote the post. And I admit here, as I have before on this board many times, that I did stop deleting any posts except porno/profanity. I've explained a few times why I did that, too. In the context of the events going on at that time, I did what I believed was the right thing.
Remember when M14 deleted a post of mine for no reason, and I raised the big stink about it on the board because you wouldn't answer my cries for justice? Remember that I pointed out your willingness to allow injustice, and you admitted to it? Remember that we acknowledged, you and me, that the reason you allow Moderator 14 to keep deleting all those posts that don't need deleting is because mixed in among them are a few posts that do need deleting, and nobody else but him will do it?
Rick, one of the main reasons I stopped deleting posts is because, whenever I asked people for their opinions on it, I was told to leave them up. I got this from you, from Aussie Boy, from Silent Partner, and from people on the board. So I concluded that the prevailing attitude of the board and its administrators was, "Leave 'em up." It was! I know that was your attitude.
Your attitude, the attitude of the administrators, changed somewhere along the line, did an about face and marched backward a few paces. It took a long time for us to realize you were serious. There were a lot of other implications in there as well, things that had to be "figured out" because you guys never posted except to tell us about changes to the board software or procedures. Some of us are still scratching our heads, trying to figure out exactly where you guys' heads are at. Mixed signals? Sheesh... more like signal potpouri.
So, I have finally realized that you're truly serious about maintaining the FPP. And with the new moderator guidelines in testing, I'm willing, as I posted once before, to go back to cleaning up the board of insults, slander and the like. I've already said that I'm doing this.
So, Rick, yes, you're right... I am saying, in effect, "I'll do what I'm supposed to do if you'll fire Moderator 14." The thing is, I'm going to be doing it anyway, so I really don't have anything to bargain with. So why did I make the offer?
I want you to realize that you aren't stuck with just Mugsy Gambini the hit man as your only active moderator. You don't have to turn your head and ignore all the injustice, onesidedness and personal preference that characterizes his moderating performance. You can have it like it should be. I'm willing. Other moderators are willing. We can do it right.
Please. Get rid of him.
