Rick, the purpose of my post was to expose an unbalanced and unfair method of judging people's motives.
What I did in that post was quote practicus' conclusion about the motives of you and the other H2O administators... a conclusion which he reached based on one very subjective, very opinionated interpretation of the stated purpose of this website. Then, I adapted his standard of judgment to another situation, using the WBTS now instead of H2O as the subject. I demonstrated how the same judgment, if it was valid, would logically have to apply to them as well as to H2O. I then challenged the reader to present any such situation to practicus to see if he would make the same prematurely conclusive judgment about the WBTS.
practicus accused you H2O administrators of deliberate dishonesty. He arrived at that conclusion based on your website's stated purpose. I did not tackle the issue of whether he was correct or not; that was not the purpose of my post. What I did was grant, for the purposes of my argument, the possibility that he was right about you. I then granted, for the purposes of my argument, that the same conclusion is obtained from falsehoods in WBTS literature.
I did not say that the WBTS deliberately lies. I applied practicus' judging methods to another situation for the sake of making a contrast.
Whether H2O administrators deliberately deceive, and whether the WBTS deliberately deceives, was not an issue; it was brushed aside. It was temporarily granted in both cases for the sake of moving on to the point of the post, which was that practicus uses a different "scale" for the WBTS than he does for H2O. He has two sets of scales. Therefore, based on the scripture, his actions come under the category of "detestable to Jehovah." That was the point of the post.
