Remember that M14 is a volunteer and not employee. Nobody has the right to "fire" him, but rather, at best have him step down. Your analogy needs slight editing to get it right, COMF. May I take a red pen and mark it up?

COMF might have better used this analogy...

``I brought in a man as a volunteer security guard for my non-profit office, and when I come in I find that although he punches in many hours for free and threw out several vagrants, that a few items of employee property, files and wall hangings (including everything from nude girlie calendars to more `innocuous' pictures) have been moved into a storage room. I'm not going to stand there saying, "By golly, he sure did maintain good building security, didn't he! Just like I hired him to do." I'm going to sit down with him in a conference room and ask him why he moved these certain items into storage? I'm going to commend him for getting rid of the girlie calendars but ask why the pictures of bikini clad women, which I personally happen to like, were also moved? What about those Monet reproductions in the hall? Where are they? I'm also going to grill him on why a mix of employee possessions from string guitars to boom boxes to small refridgerators to file cabinets containing back issues of Rolling Stones magazine were moved into the 'Deleted' storage room? If he refuses to give me a satisfactory answer, then I'm going to first decide if these items are precious enough to get rid of him as a volunteer? With a shortage of security volunteers and increase in vagrants entering the main lobby, I'm going to evaluate whether to ask employees to just go into the 'Deleted' storage area and get their stuff, rather than make a capital case out of it and suffer worse consequences from these vagrants and troublemakers? Besides, others in the building claim that if it weren't for his getting rid of the stale girlie calendars and inappropriate pictures, they would have left long ago. Let's see, I better not make a rash decision and regret it later.''

There, that analogy is a little closer to reality.

Rick
