| Cooperman 4-Point Scale |
| Tired of relying on a couple of crappy stars or N's or $'s to pick your movies? Well worry no longer, the Cooperman 4-Point Scale has come to the rescue, the short explanation is as follows: There are really only four categories that are required to truly review whether a movie is worth seeing or a complete waste of time. They are Quality, Entertainment, Comedy and the ever important Nudity. With a little explanation, these categories and the ratings on each can provide almost any movie goer with the amunition they need to scope out a movie before spending the big cash. They are defined as follows: 1. Quality - this is a measure of how well made the movie is. Is the script well written? Have the actors done a good job? Is the movie Oscar worthy? Etc. This is probably the closest rating linked to the common newspaper star rating, however, most of the time Quality does not provide enough information to warrant seeing the movie, there needs to be more... 2. Entertainment - this is a measure of the pure entertainment value of a movie. Was it a pleasure to watch? Most people could list hundreds of Oscar winning movies, that were a damn boring to watch. 3. Comedy - what's a movie without humour? How many times have you gone to a four star movie and returned home wanting to stick your head in the stove? With the comedy category, your life is safe. 4. Nudity - no explanation required, but be careful this applies to women and men, so you may want to read the comments associated with this one. Now some may question that important categories are missing, such as originality, or music or action, but proponents of the patented Cooperman 4-Point Scale would reply with a witty comment like "screw you, make up your own scale if you want those crappy categories" or "when was the last time you saw a movie with lots of nudity that wasn't worth seeing?". |
