Revenge of the Nerds
By Chris McDonald
Revenge of the Nerds as reviewed by Chris McDonald on the Cooperman scale.

It has been said that it is difficult for a film to score well using the Cooperman Rating System. True, however once in a lifetime a film comes along that so captures the essence of humanity that it cannot help but leave all others behind. The Godfather, Casablanca, Ghandi, all powerful films but all would score lower on the Cooperman Scale and fail to reach the individual in such a gripping way as the 1983 film REVENGE OF THE NERDS. A tale of growing up and overcoming prejudice, Revenge of the Nerds is a fantastic coming of age story.

How ROTN scores on the Cooperman Scale:

Quality: ROTN IS quality. The script is a written masterpiece and the actors play it out to perfection. Robert Carradine shines as our nerdy protagonist "Louis" while Anthony Edwards thrusts himself onto the international film scene as the determined "Gilbert." A pre-Rosanne John Goodman makes up for the brevity of his role with a superb performance. ROTN is fantastic right down to the finest detail. One can only awe at the costumes which are authentic right down to the pocket protectors most popular with nerds at the time. Rating 4/5

Entertainment: Keg parties, beer blasts, drinking contests, this film has it all! The story develops quickly, keeping the audience in stiches and suspense along the way. ROTN is a treat for the senses that you can enjoy over and over again. Rating 5/5

Comedy: Characters Booger, Takashi, Lamarr and Poindexter deliver brilliant readings of the script and show impeccable timing reasuting in laughs galore. With lines such as "Enough tits and ass, I want bush!" and "We have bush!" ROTN is overflowing with fresh, original comedy. Rating 5/5

Nudity: Does it get any better than this? Repeated full frontal nudity, as well as ample breast and butt scenes, gives us a tasteful look at the female form. Rating 5/5

With a score of 19/20, ROTN is a big time winner on the Cooperman Scale. After watching this movie, you'll feel like a winner too.
