Windmumblers
Lets open this review to state that there were only two reasons I went to see this movie:

1. Nicholas Cage
2. Tim Kushneryk

Most of you have probably never heard of the latter, but he was just as big of a factor as Nicholas Cage. How could a young baby-faced Ukrainian from Winterpeg make as big of an impact as the legendary Cage you may ask? The answer is Minority Report, you see the only reason I saw Windtalkers on the weekend was because Tim had already seen Minority Report and we didn't want to drag his ass to it a second time (according to Troy and Joe it has good and bad parts, I can only say it is over 2 hours). Of course there is no need to explain the legend that it Nicholas Cage, even though he has done some questionable movies in his day, no one can ever forget Wild at Heart, Zandalee, Raising Arizona and one of the Cooperman top 100: Leaving Las Vegas.

Okay to the task at hand, using the Cooperman 4-point scale:

1. Quality - this movie ranks reasonably high in the quality range thanks to a Winnipegger (coincidentally one of Tim's childhood friends, they used to bike to the closest donut shop every morning to get their fill of Jambusters) that plays the star Navajo code talker and of course to Nic Cage, he is always up there on the quality range and to the also legendary John Woo, nobody can shoot the slow motion like Mr. Woo. All the work that went into this movie gets it a 3 in Quality.

2. Entertainment - I don't know about you, but I'm getting a little bit tired of non-stop killing, for some reason if its set in Hong Kong and its Chow Yun Fat doing the shooting, its damn good fun, but when its Nic Cage killing every Japanese in sight and that same-old American bullshit, it just not all that entertaining, some sort of strategic move besides not getting killed would have been a nice touch too. Lets give it a 2.

3. Comedy - besides the odd bursts off laughter at the all too obvious John Woo melodrama, each slo mo scene is worth at least a half a laugh, the jokes in this movies were few and far between, 1.

4. Nudity - nill, nada, zip, not even a glimpse of Nick's ass.

So that's a Q3E2C1N0 for a total of 6.

Bring back the Nicholas Cage of old.
