First off, the biggest surprise of the movie is that McCauley Culken is a major player - he's got asthma and he's young again. Good to see McCauley back on the big screen in what is his first successful movie since Home Alone 2. McCauley is really upstaged by the young girl in the movie though (sorry, but don't know her name) - she's cute and she's funny.

Now to the Cooperman 4-Point Scale:

1.) Quality - Hard to argue that this is anything but a well made movie. If you're expecting a really scary movie, however, you might be disappointed. It's more of a "what's going to happen next" sort of movie that seldom gets overly scary. I only had to grab hold of the arm of the girl I was watching with on three occasions. Mel Gibson is generally a pretty good bet and I've been fond of Joaquin Phoenix ever since Return to Paradise. Definitely a few questionable scenes in the mix, but I'll give it 3.5 out of 5.

2.) Entertainment - A mixture of suspense, a few laughs, and aliens cruising around. Like an episode of the X-Files when it was good. No complaints here. 4 out of 5.

3.) Comedy - I wasn't expecting much in this department going in, but there are a few laughs to be had. I really liked it when the kids (& Joaquin) wore the aluminium (or was it tinfoil?) hats. 2 out of 5.

4.) Nudity - If memory serves me correctly, this was a Disney movie. Whether I'm right or wrong though, there was certainly no nudity. 0 out of 5.

I'm beginning to realise how difficult it is for a movie to do well in all categories of the Cooperman 4-Point Scale. I thought this was a good (but not great) movie and would say it is worth seeing.
