Fitted dash to car and drilled through chassis to secure with 4 mm screws and nuts. Fitted tunnel in position and drilled through into chassis to secure with fir tree plastic fixings.
Cut out foam and leather cloth for tunnel cover, glued foam to tunnel cover with fir tree fixings in cover so they will be concealed. Finally covered and glued leather cloth over tunnel cover.
May 14th
Cut out foam for dash and glued into place with fixing screws fitted, cut out leather cloth for dash and glued over dash starting at the centre and working outwards stretching and glueing a bit at a time to prevent wrinkles.
May 15th
Secured mini heater to tunnel top and attached hoses. Attached resistor from sierra blower motor to give mini heater three speeds. Fitted gear lever gaiter and chrome ring to tunnel cover.
May 30th
Made cardboard template for infill panel to fit between seat back panel and side panel to keep out water and muck from the rear wheels. Cut and fitted infill panel to the near side.
May 31st
Cut and fitted infill panel to the drivers side. Fitted rear brakes and handbrake cable. Shortened handbrake cable using cable clamps.
June 2nd
Bled the brakes and put oil in the gearbox and diff. (Took me about 2 hrs to remove the diff filler plug, ended up using a 12" stilsons and a 2lb lump hammer)
June 7th
Seat back panel covered with leather cloth.
June 9th
Put carpet on tunnel and footwells.
June 11th
Picked up Volvo expansion bottle and Fiesta washer bottle from scrappies.(both for a fiver)
June 15th
Mod made to Sierra seatbelt bracket. Fitted washer bottle to the back of drivers foot panel (only place left to put it)
June 17th
Fitted cycle wing brackets. Fitted modified drivers seat belt.
June 18th
Fitted cycle wings.
June 20th
Fitted tunnel and dashboard, switches and instrument cluster, wired up dash.
