Red and Black: The Lester Jackson Manifesto top

There are seemingly three camps regarding the disappearance of Lester Jackson. 1. Those who believe he was murdered, with the motive being to silence him, 2. Those who believe Lester was either tired of or frightened by perceived warnings and chose to leave on his own accord, and 3. Those who somewhere, somehow know the truth. What follows are the most popular accounts of what is thought to have happened to Lester Jackson.

The FACTS:

  • Dee Jackson reported Lester's disappearance on January 7, 1969. He had just recovered from an illness, which months before, doctors informed him was the direct result of a poisoning. Lester seemed to have felt better than he had in some time. At 7 am, Lester told his wife that he was going to take a walk. He kissed Dee and said, "Today is the beginning of tomorrow." and he left, never to return.

  • No body was ever located.

  • No one reports having ever seen Lester after Dee last saw him.

  • Even though Dee reported Lester's disappearance to the authorities, no missing person's report seems to have ever been filed in either New Jersey or New York. None of the governing authorities has a record of it.

  • Lester had disappeared once before, by his own will, in February 1965, after the death of Malcolm X. Even Dee had no trace of him. He was discovered in London, in disguise, playing with rock musician Jimi Hendrix, and forced to re-enter the spotlight. Dee nor Lester ever commented about what happened upon their reunion.

THEORY #1: MURDER - SILENCING THE COUNTERCULTURE
The most popular theory surrounds Lester's confirmed and possible involvement with other possible targets of government interference in attempting to silence the counterculture. If Lester was in fact murdered, his life, having begun in Communist Russia and peppered with meetings and acquaintances with controversial and powerful figures, who each are also thought to have been silenced by the government, we feel that all points are worth considering:

  • Malcolm X
  • Jimi Hendrix
  • Frances Farmer
  • George Lester Jackson

THEORY #2: LJ WENT INTO HIDING ALIVE AND WELL

THEORY #3: MURDER - INHERITANCE MOTIVE

  • Dee Montgomery Jackson-Brown

THEORY #4: BODY-SWAPPING - THE LOST BROTHER/SON
