DEE JACKSON
Sketch of young Dee around
around the time that she met

DEE MONTGOMERY JACKSON-BROWN
This theory is the least accepted of all theories. But brings up some interesting points, nevertheless. The theory goes that Dee Jackson may have arranged for, conspired in and/or herself directly caused Lester's death, if he is in fact deceased. Some fathom that Dee may have been involved in a setup/cover-up operation aiding Lester's killer/s, either by providing crucial information to his whereabouts, possessions (including the missing unpublished second book Lester wrote), actions, thoughts and so on. Others go so far as to say that there were no third parties, that Dee herself killed her husband, knowing full well that there were others who would be suspect more immediately. Another wild theory claims that the child Dee miscarried was not Lester's in fact (since he'd been told he was infertile by four doctors, including a friend), but possibly fathered by someone who might have been involved in his disappearance.

One such claim, says it may have even been Lester's long lost brother, that Lester referred to in an interview, who may have resurfaced, jealous of his brother's success, and conspired with his wife to kill him, split the inheritance and/or feign a miscarriage when actually a child of their own was really born. Another one is, that if the child really were Lester's, she purposefully miscarried, to get back at him for having disappeared before to London... and knowing how depressed he would become, he would be weakened and she would be able to help plot his demise without him knowing. The motive, in any case, is presumably that Dee received monies, protection, and general care from those she helped murder her husband and/or directly benefitted from Lester's savings and royalties from his works.
The facts which found the origins of these theories:
- Even though Lester had been told he was infertile by four doctors, including a friend, Dee miraculously became pregnant shortly after Lester returned from his first 'disappearance' to London.
- On March 2, 1969, just two months after Lester's disappearance, Dee reportedly sold her and Lester's belongings and moved back to Los Angeles.
- In addition to the money she earned from selling his belongings, she was also "left with a substantial savings account Lester had accumulated"
- 5 years later, she remarried a former professional football player, who is assumed to have had a healthy sum of money himself.
- In 1985, Dee sold what is said to have been all of Lester's musical works-in-progress to Mercury/Polygram Records, for a what is assumed to also be a healthy sum of money.
- As the sole heir of Lester Jackson (no will was ever uncovered, although he confided in Patrice Shaw that he had made one after his London excursion), Dee earns all royalties from Lester's musical works
Questions:
Why did she move so suddenly after her husband's disappearance, unless she knew for certain that he was not to return [remember that he'd disappeared once before a few years prior and was found alive in London].
Dee claimed to have sold all of Lester's belongings in 1969 when he disappeared, but then sold some of his recordings in 1985. Slight oversight, or conveniently neglected fact? Does she have more of Lester's belongings, such as his unpublished second book?
