Once long ago the lord of chaos, having recently taken form, looked about the world and was disgusted. He summoned forth 140 great beasts to do his bidding and called them felhounds. The following day he summoned forth the wyvern and the frost wyrms, all of them he sent out into the world to do his evil work. Finally there came a day when he summoned into the world a great race to seek out and destroy the other cultured races on the planet, they were known as the nephilim. It is unknown what realm of existence these beasts hailed from, only that under the dark gods power their evil tenancies were exploited and advanced.
At first only a select few Nephilim with the greatest of intellect and willpower could resist the corruption of the dark lord, and they attempted to escape, but most were slaughtered. For decades the god summoned more and more of them, until he had amassed a huge mindless army bent on hate and destruction. They were led out into the world terrorizing and destroying all life as they went. They went first to the region of cliffs and mountains where it is said the mythical griffons lived, there a great many battles ensued, ending in the final annihilation of the race of griffons. They were guided by their master throughout the world, destroying entire races from the world, and leaving no trace of their history intact. It was not long till their unchecked warpath led them into a direct confrontation with the humans.
Being one of the largest races in number at that time, the humans posed real resistance to the nephilim. The castles and mechanization of the humans held the nephilim at bay for many years, but the unrivaled brutality of the nephilim and the catastrophic powers of the gods being set against each other could not hold the tide at bay. Gradually kingdom after kingdom fell, until at last, all that remained was one solitary land. Having heard tales from the bards of the oncoming doom, many humans fled to the mountains never to be seen again, but on such human happened upon the group of nephilim that had managed to escape and recruited their assistance. Poised in battle on the third day of the invasion the Nephilim heard the drums of war from the mountains and all combat ceased. From the mountain poured a force thousands strong, rivaling the number of the nephilim, and they bore the flag known now as the symbol of the nagians.
A tremendous battle was fought then on all levels, as the Nagians and Nephilim pitted strength against each other the humans call forth to the other races for help. To the aid of the Nagian and the humans came the elves with magic and arrows gleaming in the sun, so the lord of chaos called forth to the drow bring them with their skeletal minions to match the might of the elven nation. The elves then called out to the pixies, employing their aid, and likewise the drow called forth the vampires. The lords of righteousness then brought forth the majestic Wemic employing their speed and strength, so the lords of power and corruption freed the dendrophid with the requirement of men in battle. Every ambient race was called forth in some form or another to turn the tide of this bloody war. The gods themselves battled, pitting their strength against the other for what would be the fate of the world.
The battle was a bloody one, and in the end many races ceased to exist being entirely destroyed. It was finally decided when disgusted at the failure of the nephilim to destroy the nagian, the lord of chaos revoked his magical ties to them, which caused them to again have a will of their own. They fled then very few in number, and never free of the evil influences that had been set upon them. No race emerged unscathed, but the forces of light had prevailed and the kingdoms were rebuilt with time.
