Humans are among the youngest of the races of men to walk the world of Carsopia. It's been theorized by several scholars that Human's are nothing more then the embodiment of everything that is wrong in the world these days. To describe a human, all one would have to say is that they are a very plain creature bi-pedal creature who value self-satisfaction among other things. They have been known to hunt the skins of the Wemic's, mine the minerals of the Dwarves, and even steal the magic of the Elves which they perverse for their own use.
Another well placed fact about Human's is that they value warfare. Many wars of the world have been sparked by them simply so they can get what they want. (The River's of Blood was one such war where after the refusal of the Dwarves to hand over their holdings of mithril and gems so they could use them for their own use, the Human's slew the Dwarven workers sparking the ten year war where the bloodshed was so plentiful that rivers literally ran red with blood. In all accounts over half the Dwarven Clans were almost destroyed and in the end the Dwarves signed over the release of a portion of their land to stop the bloodshed.) This type of give or be killed attitude has sparked many wars between the Human's. Even some of the gods disdain them, and in some cases this irritation has been let known. (One such famous account is where Ariekien changed the incantation of a spell of a sorcerer who was preforming for an audience. When quoted correctly, the spell was to produce a rather dazzling array of light and sounds. Unfortunately thanks to Ariekien, the spell when cast, proceeded to produce a monster which slew the magician and went on a rampage in several human cities, til by chance Ariekien grew tired and whisked it away.)
Human cities are usually found on the banks of rivers or far into the mountains, forest and fields. Each which offer their own shelter and stability. Most Human's are pledged to a lord or master, and bear their sigil upon it. Most importantly, all Human's pay homage to their King or Queen for they are the voice of the entire nation and it is the hope of all people that one day one of them will have the sense to stop their evil works and turn their nation around before it is obliterated from the earth. The average life span of a human is only about eighty to ninety years, and this has driven them to produce and expand at an incredible rate. |
