| There are plenty of Elk in Yellowstone. It is easy to be able to see elk all over the park. The bull elk, or male; that's the one with the horns, are not as plentiful in the park. They usually stay off by themselves. I have notices over the last few years that there doesn't seem to be as many calves born. Some people say that the wolves are moving in and killing them. I don't know! But I know I haven't seen as many lately. The places where I have seen the most large bull elk is around Canyon, going towards Artist Point, and from Gibbon Falls to Norris area. Also in the evening around the Madison area going to West Yellowstone. Mammoth has a nice herd that hang around the hotel area. In the late afternoon seems the best time to see the large elk. Well, sit back and enjoy the ride....... |
