Halloween 2006

Feeling in the spirit, I threw together a quasi-pirate ensemble to wear to class on Halloween. I couldn't let the holiday pass unnoticed. :) I thought about going to a bar or two with a few friends in my Tango Underwear (always a crowd favorite), but I didn't feel like squeezing myself into a corset so I just stayed home instead. I know - I'm a party ANIMAL! :D

Update! 10/08 - I wore this costume again for Halloween 2008. I know - stuck in a rut! ;) Check out the pictures below, featuring five day old Baby Logan ("This IS my costume!"), or see our entire trick-or-treating party [here].

Generic Pirate
I found the striped shirt at JC Penny's in the local mall. I was fortunate that such tunics are currently en vogue. I paired it with two black leather belts of different widths - one from Walmart for $10 and one that I purchased from a recent trip to Italy. The scarf was also bought in Paris during the same trip. I thought about tying it around my waist a la Captain Jack (picture #2), but ended up putting it in my hair. I thought it looked more festive that way. ;) I debated whether or not to wear a skirt (Shelly's black ruffled Spanish Courtesan skirt) but cheated and ended up wearing jeans - hey, it was cold! - with my black Regina boots. I also wore my Master Replica's Pirate Medallion (picture #3). ARGGG!

Generic Pirate Redux
I wore this costume again for Halloween 2008, but added a few chunky rings (not seen in these pictures, unfortunately) that I purchased earlier in the year to wear with one of the outfits from my Steampunk-Inspired Original Line. After all, pirates need their bling! ;)
