| Deep in the woods, I once came across a mini hoard of modern pound coins, 20 pences and 2 pences totalling just over eight pounds. Under this pile was another pile of old pennies and thrupenny bits. Of course I was on a high then so I scanned the surrounding area intensely. The only other find to come to light was this (empty) handbag which I detected the pressstud. Is it the former site of a mugging? or someone forgot their belongings after a romp in the trees? |
