This is the Victorian Era Mill Managers house in Pleasely Vale. The mills around it are still open but are used a warehouse storage, rather than textile making. Ive searched the woods around this area and am still looking for any interesting items to surface.
I remember the National Trust Warden in his jeep driving over to me as i was searching. "Hi, found anything good?" Alarm bells ring, my coins, mitts off. "Errm no not really, just a few pegs and coins" "ahh okay, well keep off the dunes, theres dozens of mortars and shells in there from 2nd World War target practice" "no need to tell me twice, ive no intention of going there" "yeah, the good stuffs, over there anyway, near the ice cream van post." "Okay thanks" I quickly make my way to the Ice Cream Van post, and dig up 1.60.
TIP: Where you find one coin you will usually find more
TIP: On the beach search opposite the amusements if possible or under the pier.
This is an interesting one. (The scissors are there for size comparison) I found this on Withernsea Beach last December. When i got this home, i put it in the sink, ran the hot tap and went into the lounge. I came back 2 minutes later to such an awful sulphur stench we had to evacute the house. It now resides near the wheelie bin. I think this is, or was a cannonball.

Local Woods: The last place youd expect to find a gas main. Ive since snapped this telescopic trowel, now relying on the backup ex - army entrenchment spade. UPDATE: Thats now broken as well, ive since purchased a small spade online which seems well upto my frantic digging.
Ireland: The bloke on the steps asked me "have ye found any gold there?" no, but i did get my first Euro coins.
Cleethorpes in Winter. Dont know if you can tell from this but a lot of the sand is piled high against the sea wall. This means a better chance of old coins on the hard packed sand underneath..
