My names Lee, Im now 27 years old, born n Sheffield Hallam Hospital. I work as a Design Engineer on CAD (Computer Aided Design) for a company based in Sheffield.
Apart from tramping round boggy fields at weekend, I like reading about tramping around boggy fields, reading about things I might find while tramping around boggy fields and learning the best way to tramp.
Seriously, apart from Metal detecting, I'm a big Victor Meldrew fan, love listening to Jethro (you know, the Cornish comedian), anything by The Corrs, Four Star Mary, Roxette, basically anything most people think is a bit on the tame side.
I dont drink, dont like it. Thats it really.
since writing this website my life has changed a little. Got a girlfriend, got 2 step kids, moved out to my own house, got a second car, and now a 3rd (non-stepkid) is on the way so you could say lifes a bit different.
Ive only ever met another metal detectorist once in Dorset while beach sweeping on holiday. He told me he had only found 5p. I smiled, nodded and said nothing having found diddly squat.
Ive got a few gadgets as well, GPS, a phone with MP3, airband radio, cordless earphones (useless for detecting when you need a 240v supply), mini radios, pocket knives and survival tools. Most of which are left at home when I go out.
My first detector was this one which I got for my 18th birthday. The bright orange is pretty embarrassing (see the picture below) and I kept it in a bin bag while out. This made me buy a second, better detector from the States. A Bounty Hunter Tracker IV for �129 plus import fees. I still have this as a spare. I bought some unnamed Cscope off a car boot for a fiver also as a spare. Then I got my Minelab Sovereign XS2a PRO which I use now.
