Im putting the question to all fishermen to identify these. They were found on Withernsea beach over a period of 3 months. Depth varied from 1" to 6". If you know what they are, please email me or leave a message in the guestbook.
Ive been told they could be anything fom Lobster pot weights to Viking hand grenades. My guess is theyre some sort of fish net threader.
This is the Seldom Seen Engine House in my local woods. I was going to search the area around the back but a) its overgrown 2) the area is a total slagheap, not an ounce of proper soil in sight and d) id prefer to search the old railway line, or find the govenors house if there was one. If anyone knows anything about the old engine house or railway track in Eckington woods, please contact me.
I found this thinking it was a Roman Coin. After cleaning it, it appears to be a metal button of some sort because of the identation on the back (shown on the left.) Id really like to put a date on this so if anyone can help, please mail me.
This is Withernsea beach which produces some interesting finds. Next to the cannonball was an even bigger lump of metal which was totally rusted.
Ive been to this beach a few times now and i think the money finds stands at 23 pence.
Well worth the petrol then.
