This shot is of Tim Matheny doing a major wheelie!! Tim named this lawnmower "CHOPPER!!" This lawnmower is launched by a 12-horsepower Briggs & Stratton. CHOPPER has a Dynamark frame from around 1977, but you'd hardly recognize it by the modifications that have been made. Tim was one of the first two Dewberry Mudboggers to try and get a lawnmower through a mud pit in an elderly neighbor's yard!

This is one of many pictures of Tim doing what he does on EVERY race day, whether we're mudbogging or road racing -- waving "hi" to his Mom. We thought it was fitting to put it on Tim's page; kind of like his trade mark. :-)

We also thought it was fitting to have Stevie Ray Vaughn playing on Tim's page because whenever we go on a road trip to race, Tim's favorite, Stevie Ray, always manages to be played on the local radio station!!

Tim competed with the OHIO MOWER RACERS at the Columbus Motor Speedway on June 20th, 1998, and won Third Place in Class 3. Tim and fellow racer, Rodney Day, battled it out for Third Place in Class 2 and had a photo finish. Tim tried to pass Rod on the straight-away at the checkered flag, but it wasn't enough. Tim came out of retirement for this race. Welcome back!
