WELCOME TO THE DEWBERRY MUDBOGGERS AND OHIO MOWER RACERS DRIVERS PROFILE PAGES!!

Mark named his mower this because (and this is in his own words):
"(1) There's no room for luggage, (2) Parts for it are expensive as H*LL, (3) my cousin had some exotic car posters in his apartment and I saw the "Lambourghini Diablow" poster being a rear-engine car and his mower being a rear-engine rider, the name was perfect. The only difference is the mower has 1/12th of the cylinders. (4) The same reason Yankee Doodle called that feather in his hat a macaroni."

MARK'S MODEL MOWER BEFORE MODIFICATIONS

This mower was ready to be scrapped when Mark bought it at an auction in Ashtabula, Ohio, where he's from. Mark's mower is a QN8-32 Toro rear engine riding mower. The original motor's serial # indicated that it was manufactured in 1984. That's where Mark's racing number came into the picture (#84).

LAWNBOURGINI DIABMOW LOADED UP FOR THE LONG HAUL TO THE NATIONALS

Here's a picture of Mark's mower all loaded up for the trip to the Nationals in Rockford, Illinois. Mark has been racing the the United States Lawnmower Racing Association since 1995, and with the Ohio Mower Racers since their start in 1998.

ANOTHER SHOT OF MARK'S MOWER LOADED UP

Here's another shot of Mark's mower loaded up! (You can't take too many pictures of your mower when it is in good shape -- you never know what will happen on race day!!)

LAWNBOURGHINI DIABMOW WITH LOTS OF TROPHIES

This picture shows all of Mark's trophies (thru 1998). As you can tell, Mark does pretty good for himself.

THE LAWNBOURGHINI AT THE 1998 USLMRA NATIONALS

Here's a shot of Mark's mower (#84) and a few others at the 1998 USLMRA STA-BIL Nationals in Rockford, Illinois. Mark has participated at every USLMRA National event since he started in 1995.

MARK'S TROPHIES

More pictures of Mark's trophies. Mark found out about lawnmower racing when his father stumbled upon an article in the "Farm and Dairy" Magazine out of Salem, Ohio.

ONE OF MARK'S TROPHY SHELVES

Mark keeps his trophies proudly on display. Mark said that 1998 was the first year he really attended many races. He completed all other races (other than those listed below) without mechanical breakdowns. Uh yeah, but, he wrecked a few times but managed to get on his "buggy" and finish. Mark won 3rd Place in USLMRA Point Standings for AP Class for 1998.

SKIING ANYONE?

Here's Mark's HUGE trophies he won in Mendota. They were 3 and 4 feet tall! Mark had them laying out and they looked just like he was ready to go skiing!

Mark bought himself a new engine and competed in the B Prepared Class in 1999 on the USLMRA circuit. Don't be surprised if he does a quick engine change and switches between the A Prepared and B Prepared classes!

MARK WITH SOME BABES MARK WITH SOME MORE HOOTERS

Here's a few pictures of Mark with the ladies of Hooters.

MORE BABES YET MORE BABES

Here's some shots of some ladies posing with Mark at a car show in Cleveland.

Mark participated in both of the USLMRA Show Down, Prolong, and No Leak Automotive Seals Challenge Regionals on July 1-2, 2000, in Lisle, Illinois. He participated in only the SP Class on this race day. In the Show Down Regional, Mark placed a very respectible 4th place (out of 15 racers). The 1-2-3 finishers were David Zaremba (AL), Ken Kiper (IL), and Mike Bertrand (WI). In the Prolong Regional, Mark finished in 7th (out of 17th). The top three finishers were David Zaremba (AL), Reese Reeves (TX), and Garrett Gray (TX). In the No Leak Challenge, Mark finished again in a very respectible 4th position (out of 17th). In the AP Class, Mark finished in 9th (out of 15). The 1-2-3 finishers were Kary Koelliker (IL), Mike Boris (MD), and Trish Potenza (OH). In the SP Class, Mark finished in 7th (out of 20 racers). The top three were David Zaremba (AL), Wayne Collett (WV), and Mike Bertrand (WI). In regional #2 AP race, Mark finished in 10th (out of 16 competitors). The top three were Evan Billingsley (MT), Mark Boyce (GA), and Richard Dunlavy (OH). In the 2nd SP race, Mark finished in 12th (out of 19 racers). The top three were David Zaremba (AL), Charles Powell (TX), and Dale Ost (MI). In the 3rd AP Class regional, Mark finished in 14th (out of 14). The 1-2-3 finishers were Evan Billingsley (MT), Mark Boyce (GA), and Steve Sergent (OH). In the 3rd regional SP race, Mark finished in 14th (out of 16 racers). In the top three were Richard Dunlavy (OH), Dale Ost (MI), and Evan Billingsley (MT). Mark had to be plumb tuckered out after all that racing!

On September 1, 2000, the USLMRA hosted a regional and National event in Greenfield (Indianapolis), Indiana. This was a very tight track with MANY racers, so passing was tough! Mark participated in the AP and SP Classes for both events. At the Prolong Regional event in the AP Class, Mark finished in 21st (out of 24 racers). In the 1-2-3 positions were Kurt Schwengle (WI), Steve Sergent (OH), and Dink Strunk (AL). In the SP Class Regional, Mark finished in a very respectible 6th position (out of 22 racers). In the Nationals event, Mark finished in 22nd (out of 24). The top three Nationals finishers were Evan Billingsley (MT), Kurt Schwengle (WI), and Steve Sergent (OH). In the SP Nationals event, Mark finished in 13th (out of 21) with Brian Burdette (MD), Mitch Kiper (IL), and David Zaremba (AL) finishing in the top three.

For the 2000 USLMRA Points Standings, Mark finished overall in 15th place in the AP Class, and 9th in the SP Class.

Mark Beckett attended the STA-BIL Race for Literacy in Mansfield, Ohio, on May 12, 2001. Mark finished with a respectible 3rd place finish in the SP Class! Coming in 1-2 were fellow Teammate Richard Dunlavy and Ken Kiper, respectively.

Mark participated in the STA-BIL Jones Small Engine and Central Illinois Regionals on June 3rd, 2001 in Mendota Illinois. In the SP Class, Mark finished in 11th place in both regionals. Coming in 1-2-3 were David Zaremba (Alabama), Charles Powell (Texas), and Mike Denbow (Texas) in the Jones Small Engine Regional. Finishing in 1-2-3 for the Central Illinois Regional were the same racers.

Mark competed in the STA-BIL Union County Regional in Marysville, Ohio on July 28, 2001. In the SP Class, Mark had a "random finish" with Dale Ost (Michigan) taking the checkered, Dave Hertel (Wisconsin) and Art Neaville (Michigan) both in 2nd, and in 3rd was Mitch Kiper (Illinois).

Mark also attended the STA-BIL Ohio Regional in Celina, Ohio, on July 29, 2001. Mark gave it his all and had a random finish. In the top 3 were David Zaremba (Alabama), Charles Powell (Texas), and Dale Ost (Michigan), respectively.

Mark competed in the 4th Annual STA-BIL Buckeye Regional in Marysville, Ohio, at the All Ohio Balloon Festival on August 18, 2001. Mark had a random finish, with the top three being David Smith (New Jersey), Dale Ost (Michigan), and Mark Caruso (Michigan).

In the USLMRA 2001 Season Point Standings, Mark finished in a very respectible 11th place out of 59 racers.

Mark raced quite a few races in 2002 and on many different mowers. With his time split between preparing so many mowers, we're all wondering when he has time to sleep and come up with all of his Puns (he is known as the "King of Puns" on the racing circuit). He raced in Marysville, Ohio, in 7/02, and Did Not Start in the SP Class and had a random finish in the BP Class (but it at least started!). He also raced in Celina, Ohio, in 7/02 and also had a random field finish in BP Class. Mark finished in 16th Place during the Mansfield, Ohio, National Championship. Mark finished in 10th Place in overall Point Standings in the BP Class. His 2002 results are all listed below.

Lets see how Mark has done over the years....
