PARENT INVOLEMENT
The number one factor in increasing student achievement is through parent involvement!

Parent Punch Cards
Each time you come to Kettering to support your childs education you get a punch on your card.  There are also ways to earn punches at home by turning in Homelinks and other types of homework assigned by classroom teachers (4 assignments=1 punch).  After 13 punches on your card, you will be invited to the end of the year parent breakfast at the Ypsilanti Marriot with Mrs. Brandau our principal.
There are 2 evening family activities each month paid for using Title1 and At Risk funds.  Check your calendars each month for the dates and times.

* You can also join our awesome PTO!

Contact Mrs. Tatom or Ms. Cooley anytime you have questions or ideas for our parent programs.

TECHNOLOGY
Each classroom is equipped with an IMAC computer and several other Macintosh computers.  Each teacher has their own laptop provided by the TTI program.  All teachers have received Teach for Tomorrow technology training.

MEDIA CENTER
Our media center is equipped with 30 IMAC computers with a variety of educational software in language arts, math, science, and social studies. Students attend the media center for the development of learning skills.  Literature appreciation, research skills, and technology are all integrated into the curriculum.  The media center is also used for independent projects and activities. Mrs. Justice our media paraprofessional was recently honored with the Employee of the Year Award!!!

SPECIALS
Weekly lessons in vocal music, art, and physical education enhance the educational experience of all children.  The arts give students an opportunity to develop their emotional and intellectual capabilities, and will give them many unique outlets through which creativity is fostered and encouraged.
