RESEARCH  SHOWS
The school year where students typically miss the most school is kindergarten. *Coming to school everyday in Kindergarten is so important!!!

Research also shows that kids who can identify all of their letters and sounds before entering first grade have a higher high school graduation rate than those students who can’t.

Practice the sounds each letter makes.  Make flash cards for blends (bl, th, sh, ch, etc.) and chunks (at, ump, ight, etc.)
Read lots of nursery rhymes.  It is very important that kids can identify rhyming words and make up words that rhyme.
