Family lore has it that Logan Sapp was captured by indians at the age
of 7. He lived with them for 7 years. He was finally trusted to go
alone on a hunting trip. He had secretly been saving power and shot.
Whe the indians realized that he wasn't coming back, they went after
him. He hid in a hollow log, which they had stood on while searching
for him. He had his dog with him. (this is not proven, may be a tale

yrs; and, 1 [Nathaniel] between 40 - 50 yrs
FEMALES: 2 [Mary, Mahala] between 10 - 15 yrs; and 1 [Susannah]
between 30 - 40 yrs
When war broke out there was a detachment of Confederate raiders at
Bowling Green. These raiders undertook an unlimited type of guerilla
warfare. They raided farms for provisions, harassed civilians, and
burned courthouses that contained civil records. The Logans may have
felt that by enlisting at nearby Camp Calloway they would be
protecting their homes.
Four members enlisted in Co E - 17th Kentucky Infantry. The 17th was
mustered in 11 Sep 1861 and headquartered at Hartford. It was looked
upon as a home guard by the locals. In 1863, the 17th was assigned to
the U.S. Army of the Cumberland, 21 Corps, 3rd Division, 1st Brigade. Children

Enon Patterson Cemetary, 1 mile north of Caneyville Family lore has it that
during the Civil War, guerillas came to the
home of Syrilda Jane Sapp searching for money. She saw them coming
and threw the purse out a back window. It slid under the snow and was
hidden. The guerillas tore up the beds, etc. as they searched. Angry
at not finding money, they burned feather beds and pillows in the
fireplace - and even burned the family bible. Parents:
