Nina V. Milliff was born in Dec 1899 in Kentucky. She died in 1953 in Crockett, Texas. She was buried in Crockett, Texas. Died of cancer two weeks after the cancer was discovered. She is buried in
Glenwood Cemetery, on Pease St., in Crockett, TX, along with her father,

Elizabeth Mishler - Miller⁽⁴⁹⁷⁾⁽⁴⁹⁸⁾⁽⁴⁹⁹⁾⁽⁵⁰⁰⁾⁽⁵⁰¹⁾ was born in 1807 in Kentucky.⁽⁵⁰²⁾ 1870 Census gives her place of birth as Virginia. However this is contrary to Muhlenberg Genelogical Director that said the Mishler's came from Pennsylvania. She owned Elizabeth Vandever purchases 100ac on Cypress Creek from Joseph Altic on 11 May 1833 in Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky.⁽⁵⁰³⁾ She owned Sold 100 acres on Cypress Ck to Jacob Reed on 30 Jan 1854 in Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky.⁽⁵⁰⁴⁾ She owned Elizabeth Vandever buys John Wright's Mortgage on 10 Oct 1855 in Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky.⁽⁵⁰⁵⁾ John Miller is Elizabeth's son-in-law. She owned Sold 100 ac on Cypress Ck to John Miller on 1 Mar 1870 in Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky.⁽⁵⁰⁶⁾ She died after 8 Aug 1870. She resided Kincheloe Chapel in McLean Co., Kentucky. Elizabeth lived between Rumsey and Island. Efforts are underway to identify the parents of Elizabeth.

According to Carol Brown, Muhlenberg Historical Society, the Mishlers were German immigrants that made their way into Kentucky from Pennsylvania. After they had been in Kentucky they changed their name to Miller. See "Vandiver Notes" for John Miller will.

Elizabeth should be burried in the Kinchloe Chapel area.

She was married to George H. Vandiver on 12 Nov 1824 in Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky.⁽⁵⁰⁷⁾ In Jan 1997 I sought the services of various persons in my quest for the identity of Joseph Vandever's father. One person was a Mr. Elwood Shirley a noted genealogist that I had also used, and who had remarkable results, in my Warren family quest. Mr. Shirley called me on 21 Mar to report that he has had no success. His standard research pattern turned up some material that he could not sufficiently justify to make a statement of fact. He did say that as such, he felt that it was possible that Joseph could have been an orphan.
Later, 22 Apr, I received a volume of material That had been Fed Exed from the Muhlenberg Co. Chief Genealogist, Ms. Carol Brown. From the hundreds of pages
of material regarding the Vandivers or originally "Vanderveers", the following caught my eye. This material was from "Abstracts Administrators and Guardian Settlements, Muhlenberg County 1834 - 1909" by Brenda Collier Doss. which states:
"p65, 29 May 1843, Solomen Biole or Beala, app. guardian to Joseph Vandiver orphan of George Vandiver dec'd with Francis Kertley his security $20.00."
NOTE: Joseph's first wife was Martha Beales. Conclusion: 1 legal document linking Joseph with a George.

George and Elizabeth were married only about 5 years when he died. Elizabeth was widowed with her children Joseph and Nancy. I does not appear that Elizabeth ever remarried. Because George died at such a young age was but one sole document linking him with his son Joseph. That document was generated when Solomon Beals was appointed as Joseph's guardian. Joseph was identified as the orphaned son of George Vandiver. Because Joseph was underage orphan he needed a guardian's permission to marry Martha Beals.

According to 1840 census our Joseph is living with his mother, Elizabeth and his sister, Nancy.

See 1850 Census for William Miller. It is believed that the Elizabeth Miller b 1807 is our Elizabeth Mishler who married George Vandiver in 1824. It appears that after her children left home, Elizabeth went to live with her relatives. William must have been her younger brother or a cousin.
Children were: Joseph "Dutch" M. Vandiver , Nancy C. Vandiver.

Edith Elizabeth Moberley was born on 3 Dec 1911 in Matagorda, Texas. She died on 7 Feb 1969 in Conroe, Texas. She was buried HILL CEMETERY in New Waverly, Texas.

She was married to Lawrence Wooten Milliff on 25 May 1928. Children were: Lawrence Elbert Milliff , James Gerold Milliff, Michael Angelo Milliff.

She was married to Bernard Kuita / Kurth after 1925. According to Richard Earl Lindeman, this family had two boys. But Bertha did not mention this to me on my Sep 1996 visit with her. L.A.W.

Burch Monroe⁽⁵⁰⁹⁾ was born on 16 May 1901 in Ohio Co., Kentucky. He was living in 1977 in Indiana. Lives at Martinsville, Ind. He was an Amusement park manager in 1977 in Indiana. Manages amusement park at Bean Blossom. He died on 15 Mar 1982 in Indiana.⁽⁵¹⁰⁾ He was buried in Ohio Co., Kentucky. Buried in Rosine Cemetery Parents: James Buchanan Monroe and Melissa Ann Vandiver.

Charles "Charger" Pendleton Monroe was born on 4 Jul 1903 in Ohio Co., Kentucky. Born at Rosine, Ky. He died on 27 Sep 1975 in North Carolina.⁽⁵¹¹⁾ Died in Reedsville, N.C. of Leukemia. He was buried in Ohio Co., Kentucky. Buried at the Rosine Cemetery. Parents: James Buchanan Monroe and Melissa Ann Vandiver.

He was married to Elizabeth Berry Miller on 16 Mar 1936.

Identifying this family, led to ID of Melissa, which then led to
