Site Ports

The thesis' site may be entered through different ports depending on the background and the requirements of the reader. The ports lead to different versions of the thesis. The most extensive version of the thesis is accessed through the port aimed at Uppsala University researchers, professors and students. The second thesis version is targeted at Sunfoods. The difference between these two versions is the 'Introduction to Sunfoods and Konnyaku-Chips', which is included in the first of these versions, but not in the second. The reason behind this is that this section's contents may be assumed to be known by Sunfoods affiliates since earlier.

Site Orientation

The
site map outlines the site and gives a picture of the thesis that includes all headings and sub-headings. The table of contents provided to the left of each page is meant to provide the reader with a general picture of the disposition of the thesis. It may be noted that the headings of the thesis do not follow the traditional Swedish labeling for master thesis in business studies. Instead the headings have been chosen to fit the primary targeted audience and the contents of the thesis. For Swedish academia this may strike as confusing and the following brief description of the contents of the thesis sections may be of assistance in clarifying what can be found under which heading.

The Abstract and the Thesis Introduction

The 'Abstract' summarizes the contents of the thesis and it includes a statement of the main findings and the principle conclusions. Initially in the 'Thesis Introduction' the 'Aim' of the thesis, the 'Background to the Research Topics' and the 'Research Topics' as such are presented. This is followed by a portrayal of the 'Targeted Audience' and the 'Disposition'. Thereafter an account for the 'Research Approach' is given. The 'Research Approach' sheds light on the methodology of the thesis in a general sense and describes advantages and disadvantages of this approach. 'The Thesis in Context' which follows, describes where the thesis belongs in context and this section also takes into account some of the limitations and boundaries of the paper. The sections 'Export Guide Construction', 'Questionnaire Construction' and 'Information Gathering' is mainly concerned with methodology depictions but the sections also touches upon the thesis' boundaries and the sources reliability.

The Export Guide, the Research Results, the Discussion and the Conclusion

The 'Export Guide' can be seen as the thesis' frame of reference and it presents an overview of the export-planning route applied in the thesis. The 'Research Results' presents the answers to the questions of the 'Export Guide's' questionnaire and in the 'Discussion' the results are discussed and interpreted. Finally the 'Conclusion' highlights the main findings of the thesis. The 'Export Guide', the 'Research Results', the 'Discussion' and the 'Conclusion' have the same structure and share many sub-headings that are based on the thesis' research topics. This can be observed in the
site map and in the table of contents provided to the left of each site page.
